ok here are my picks for the first round of the stanley cup playoffs:
western conference:
Detroit Red Wings vs Edmonton Oilers as much as i'd like the oilers to win i predict the red wings will take it, i think maybe in 5 games.
Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche i pick colorado but this will be a close one 6 games
Calgary Flames vs Anaheim Mighty Ducks duh this is a no-brainer! calgary all the way! worst case 5 games
Nashville vs San Jose Sharksmmmmmmm i pick the sharks. 5 or 6
eastern conference:
Ottawa Senators vs Tampa Bay Lightning sens all the way. 6 games
Carolina vs Montreal Canadiens montreal i'll go out on a limb and say they sweep.
New Jersey Devils vs New York Rangers i choose devils in 5 games
Buffalo Sabres vs Philadelphia Flyers philly in 6

As a big Montreal canadiens fan, I will be cheering for the Habs all the way to upset the hurricanes, especially if Huet can stop the all the way as he did in Game 1.

What I am also looking forward to is seeing the Western Conference teams, and their playoff runs.

I am curious to see teams such as San Jose, Nashville, and of course our two western Canadian teams out there.

Carolina vs. Montreal - I was picking Mtl to take in in 7, but after the game today it looks like the series could go quicker then that

sharks vs oilers: i know the sharks are up by 2 games already but im still hoping for the oilers
sens vs sabres: same thing. sens are up by 2 games but holing hope for the sens
ducks vs avalanche: i want the avalanche to win but the ducks are ahead by 3, so it's not likely. maybe the ducks can pull off what calgary did last time 'round????
carolina vs devils: same thing again....i go for jersey but carolina is ahead by 2.

There is going to be lots of major upsets this year in the playoffs. So far, all the road teams seem to be winning. Before you know it, Ottawa and the Oilers will be on the outside looking in! It will be down to the Sabres and the Ducks in the finals!
