PLEASE DO NOT VOTE ALONG PARTY LINES!

I am interested in which political party in Canada CKA members feel is most likely to hypothetically and indirectly be responsible for the break-up of the Canadian State.

In my opinion the Liberals are the most likely antagonists as only recently they brought in the Clarity Act (originally titled So you want to Separate from Canada eh?), inspired Alberta separation to the polling point of 43% in favour while BC and rest of the prairies were polling in the quarter to one third range. The Liberals also single handily created a serious NFLD separatist movement and rejuvenated the Quebec separatists first bringing Canada too within a hair of dissolution in the referendum then robbing, stealing and lying to the point of disgusting even a Quebecor (which was previously thought to be an impossible task). Finally, a Charles Addler poll of his listening audience found that THE overwhelming majority said no when asked: would you vote to join Canada today if your province was a separate country?

Then Harper was elected and the threat to our country evaporated. NFLDers put away their flags and the Premier stopped musing about a sovereign island. Albertans started talking about dialogue and cooperation with Ottawa instead of protectionism and fire walls. Even an Alberta separation website stated that it was withdrawing support for an independent Alberta for at least the tenure of the Conservative government. And the Bloc has quietly STFU.

I am deliberately not including the Bloc as they are solely dedicated to the break-up of Canada and are only represented in Quebec. I did not include the NDP or Green party as they are not real contenders to ever for a government and will only affect one party anyway.

As I said in another thread I would probably vote to leave right now regardless of which political party is in power.

Yes or Western Canada. Maybe a couple months ago if you asked me I would have said we should work it out within this country but now I feel maybe it would be better if we just parted. Although I would only leave if we remained a Commonwealth Realm. Perhaps I should be nominated for a separatist medal. :P

No joke this is a real fact. Seems there are plenty of political parties out there that want to break up Canada.

While you are a separatist, I'll stick with being a globalist and wait for the NAU when Canada becomes part of the bigger picture.

My province actually joined Canada we were a colony before. The only reason why we joined is we got a railway and debt forgiven even then many didn’t want too. We can leave if we want to and we can stay if we want to as well. I’m just thinking about the future of my province and what would be best for her.

How about thinking what would be best for the country?

P.S.

Which party is most likely to break up Canada? Either. It really depends on when the proposal goes in. No one party has more of a "chance" to break up this fine country.

This country has changed and the way it defines itself. I also don’t feel I should be exploited just for the sake of Canada or Ontario and Quebec. What is best for the country would be respecting the provinces or improving the government. If these things happened you wouldn't have people like me.

And it's people like you who can change that! Instead of saying: "Oh, things suck and need to change. Let's seperate!", how about you try and change the situation instead of sitting around moping?

And trust me, Ontario has a lot of hatred of the Federal government. Don't think you Westerners are the only ones who get screwed over.

The only province who really doesn't have anything to carry on about is Quebec.

trust me Clogeroo is a very small % here in BC, based on everyone i've ever met and known my whole live in BC. And I now think less of him for it.

I think the Liberals are best at keeping the country together but are also the most likely to lead to a break up. But this won't happen, or CKA will close down.
