Just as pathetic as people who think the Iraqi guy who murdered those US soldiers is a hero.

A pointed comment, I gather.

Except that I don't put much stock in "heroism" and don't personally view him as a hero. I merely stated that many Iraqis will see him that way, however.

You are right. And I'm quite aware of your feelings on 'heroism'. But agreed that this guy will be seen that way by many Iraqi's a few misguided and twisted elements on this forum.

First of all the people of Iraq are fighting foreign soldiers on their soil and a coalition who is bent on stealing their oil resourses and sharing them with the world and the locals receiving little for their efforts. Personally thank God for George Bush, he is igniting the greatest revival of the political left.
Not only in America but in other parts of the globe. Bush and the declining economy will have people asking what the hell happend and the truth is the right has destroyed the free market system with mismanagement of the lending system.. Its a repeat of what happend in 1929 and the chickens are coming home to roost. The beauty of it is the political right has been in power in America for nearly 20 years so the blame politically will be entirely theirs. After Bush the left will have a life cleaning up the mess the conservatives left behind. Conservatives are like the locusts they rise up every couple of decades, make a mess, a recession a depression whatever and the democrats have to clean it up.
Clinton surplus, Bush huge crippling debt that is the difference

The United States unfortunately has become a disgrace, they are acting much like Hitler acted half a century ago. With a new government perhaps they will return to the image of international respect but if the Republicans get re-elected their image will be tarnished. I am not always against everything America does. The trouble is the United States for some reason can't mind its own business and they interfere in the internal affairs of so many countries.
They went to Iraq to steal their oil, and they want to fight with Iran to demonstrate they are the best in the region, and they want to control the oil and who gets it from that country too. The way they have been behaving I hope they get their ass kicked they deserve it.
The Government of the United States should stay home mind their business, they're economy is falling apart, their respect is being discounted around the world and the pride factor is coming next.
I don't want a weak America I think that would be a disaster too, what I want is an America that believes in its ideals and at the present time it doesn't.
America is about ripping off its own people and the people of the world purely for profit. they have all but privatized the military much more so than ever before. Ultra Conservatives have taken control of the agenda and they do not care about democracy they have a social and fiscal agenda that is all about money and Jesus.
I am slightly more left than right yes but I do believe that free enterprise works best most of the time as long as government ensures that companies making profit are responsible to the communities they make their profits from.
The problem is, America has lost the respect of the world, and it has no respect for others or itself right now and as a result it has few friends. Remember America after world war two, the whole world looked up to America, and today? The world hates America, the bright light is this country can reinvent itself by changing its actions. When America changes its attitude I will have respect for them again, and sadly to say, at the present thats not possible

So, what are democrats? Marsians? So it's not "america bashing" as long as it's criticism of the political "left" in america? How transparant you are.

IF they were actually pulling a women by her hair, and beating her up. Then they deserved what they got, but remember his word is not creditable. If he does have links to groups, then of course hes going to lie about it. He's not going to sit there and say, "Yeah I killed them because I am part of this so and so group".

This action, where he stated is a good plan to get more iraqi's to stand up against nato troops. As apparently is working. The Iraq Soldier's statement was a little fuzzy, I mean soldiers know that when they do something, there is no escaping getting caught. Getting charged for war crimes, is a lot worse then getting charged for regular crimes at home.

It doesn't make any sense that they would beat up a women, drag her by her hair and do whatever else to her. That would imply that every single soldier there has no concious, and did these acts without hesitating about them which as a human being I find to be unlikely. Further more, this Iraqi Soldier shot every single one of them? For something like that, you would have to catch the soldiers off gaurd. Something simular to him standing behind them, as they were on patrol and shooting them all in the back while they are close together >.<.

Anyways, all this seems unlikely and improbable. Not saying it isn't true, it could be. Just saying I don't believe it.

You mean you don't WANT to believe it. There were a number of eyewitness accounts supporting this story.

$1:
You mean you don't WANT to believe it
.

Exactly.

This is but one example of how Westerners choose to put our heads in the sand and pretend nothing is going on.... Nothing to see here!

Forget about the fact that the US has destroyed this country, it's people, it's infastructure, it's education system, it entire industry.... meanwhile they are trying to ram through an oil bill that will open up the lions share of Iraqi Oil to Western corporations. It's the Roman empire in present times... the robbing and grand theft in a nation that amounts to US imperialism at its core.

This is but one example of blowback towards occupation... and to the average Iraqi's, a hero no doubt. Who was the real victim here? The woman being abused by the US soldier.... and the person with whom our sympathies should lie.

US credibility has been destroyed.... they acted as the aggressor in this war.... they remain the occupier, even when the argument for going to war was proven to be a fraud... everybody knows this especially the Iraqi's.... and we are to expect them not to fight back?

Would we not take up arms if a foreign invader chose to destroy our country? Would we not fight back against a county that lied to the world about why they needed to invade.... a country that has already shown it's hand with regards to their true intentions by selling off it's most important industry and turning it over to our own people? Since when is it acceptable to steal from your neighbor?
