It's likely far past time. I can't see the Syrian or current Lebanese governments committing this muder though...they had to know it would cause them more problems than it was worth. I think there's a third party involved somehow, but I don't know who.

I saw a thing implicating the US and Israel, but that idea was so ridiculous that I only read the beginning of it. I also saw a brief conjecture (a couple of sentences with no real reasons given or names named) that it could have been strictly about money and have nothing to do with politics at all. That kind of struck me as possible.

He was a billionaire after all. It is entirley possible that it could of been a rivial buisness associate. I saw on a news report that it may possibly have been Iran and Syria working together, to help destabilize the middle east peace process. I however think it was...... *points blindly at a map* the Indian Ocean..... that can't be right......

Seriously though Syria needs to leave... and soon... I don't doubt that they INdirectly had something to do with this. Distanced themselves enough that they won't get the backlash. Thats just my personal Opinion.

....hmm... Hariri was a 60 year old self-made billionaire, which means he likely made much of his fortune during a very bloody and turbulent period in Lebanese history. I have a Lebanese friend who says that corruption is widespread in the country and that in order for anything to get done bribes are required. Under these conditions, it's hardly surprising if Hariri made a lot of enemies.

I think the "rival business associate-shady business dealings" theory is the most convincing explanation for what happened...

It seems possible, Godzilla, but if it's the Syrians I don't get why they would have done it when they did, given that Hariri had been pushed to the political sidelines...

I'm not sure about forcing regime change in Syria but would definitely be in favour of driving them out of Lebanon.

I don't beleive in this theory at all, this guy was a self made billionaire not from Lebanon but from Saudi Arabia and he was the one that paid all the expenses for all the partys to attend the Taef Accord. The late Mr. Hariri was very clean and honest person, he was involved in lot of charity association and was helping people left and right.
