PluggyRug PluggyRug:
"Glückliche Jagd"???

thank you (whatever it mean :mrgreen:)

harzer_knaller harzer_knaller:
School German? You mean "Hochdeutsch", right? Can't imagine an Austrian speaking ordinary German, funny thing ;-)

Wir lernen es so in der schule; [angel]
und es doch mehr hochdeutsch als zB in Stuttgart, Berlin oder im Pott;

harzer_knaller harzer_knaller:
In Switzerland they speak "Allemannisch", also a german dialect...
Why are we writing in English when both of us are able to speak/write German??? *lol*

Allemanisch ???? == switzerduitsch ??

und das is überhaupt eine gute Frage, in Deutsch brauch ich nur ein viertel der Zeit für einen Post :mrgreen:

Und die anderen haben dann auch mehr Spass am Übersetzungsprogramm.

You need more time for posting english than posting in german?
I have this "problem" too... *lol*

Wo in Österreich wohnst du eigentlich?

harzer_knaller harzer_knaller:
Don't they say: "Grüß' Gott." or old fashioned "Gott zum Gruße!"

I was in Austria, twice, when we were driving to Croatia and back to Germany...
Nice language, dude, is it true that some austrians say that that their dialect of German is an own language?

Only in the southern part of Germany. They do not say Gruss Gott in northern Germany. I think it is Catholic in origin.

My Nick?

It's from the fireworks called "Harzer Knaller", pretty famous in east-Germany when it's NEw Years Eve...

But I'm not from there... I'm born Berlin and moved to Thuringia (Thüringen) when I was six!

Grüß Gott is just used in bavarian villages, I said that to several people in Regensburg and Passau and they said something like "Nein" or "mach du's doch", so they're not really using it in southern Germany.

Btw "Glück auf!"

Thuringen and Regensburg are very nice places in Germany. As Canadians stationed in Germany at the time, those two places stand out because we use to hold many military exercises there. The people were always very friendly with all the troops, especially the little kids! PDT_Armataz_01_37
