I'm a middle aged guy with a love for Canada.

I'm a duel U.S./Canadian citizen and living in the states for four years taught me to love Canada even more. It was hard not being able to watch hockey on the tube even during play-offs.

Beautiful site, looking forward to getting to know it and people here.

Doug

I'm back in B.C. now actually, made it sound like I was still in the states...sorry about that.

I lived in SE Washington State in the 1990s.

Forgot about the beer there too...or the yellow water they call beer. :)

Where in B.C. is home?

I'm in the interior, not far from Williams Lake.

Well there is a bit of a difference if you live in southern Washington.

People made fun of my accent, especially the way I said "aboot".

I drank Schmitt beer, it was $2 for a six-pack. They call it animal down there because of the pictures of wild game on the cans.

People in Eastern Washington/Idaho have a drfinite accent. ;)

Williams Lake is pretty country. I spent a lot of summers in the 100 Mile area visiting cousins when I was little.

It is nice, there's a bit of everything in a few hours drive. Bella Coola on the coast is my favorite place.

I've never been there - I'm a lot further south on the coast.

Don't you look all purty now dressed in red. 8)

Yah, I've never been very political, but it just looks right now. :)

Bella Coola is supposed to be a lot like the fiords in Norway. The British crown ceaded the valley to a group of about 2000 Norwegians back in the 1880s I think and there's still a lot of their decendents around in places like Hagensborg.

I try to go around the July 1st weekend when the Chinook run is peaking. I don't have much luck fishing, but the scenery is so nice I don't mind. You have to watch out for the bears though, the grizzlies chase the salmon fishers off sometimes.

Squamish is very nice too, the chief is impressive.
