I've never done #3. Never had the opportunity. I suppose I could if it came up - what remains to be seen is if the victim is someone I'd actually want to rescue.

#3, never Canoe or Kayak before??

Yes, but apparently I've never had the company of klutzes. Seriously, other than the folks who were practicing flips in a kayak I've never personally seen any boat or ship capsize. Just lucky, I guess.

Things I've done and feel comfortable in my ability to do so:

2. Protect your computer
4. Frame a wall
5. Retouch digital photos
6. Back up a trailer
7. Build a campfire
9. Navigate with a map and compass
11. Sharpen a knife
13. Fillet a fish
14. Maneuver a car out of a skid
15. Get a car unstuck
16. Back up data
17. Paint a room
18. Mix concrete
23. Paddle a canoe
24. Fix a bike flat

...and especially those in bold.

Never having owned a vehicle, so haven't done many of those things - but why the hell is bleeding brake lines on the list, but changing a tire/wheel isn't?

No HDTV or wireless but everrything else on the list is a given. Have been a soldier/hunter
raced different vehicles, operrate a small trucking and mecanical business and I did the scout leader thing which covers the greatest portion of the list PDT_Armataz_01_34

Sorry - I'm just a big subscriber to the idea of never looking a gift horse in the mouth. If God wants to drown someone I don't like then who am I to argue? 8)

All of you that have said you've done everything on the list.... seriously you've done them or you just know how to do them? I can't imagine there are that many capsized boaters to rescue, and although I've been trained for it, I've yet to use CPR on anyone.

OK, although I can do CPR I've never actually done it for real but I have had to perform Infant Heimlich for real. Since it’s usually covered in the same emergency first aid course, and probably just as f****g terrifying, I figured its close enough.

As for rescuing capsized boaters; I've been on both sides of that a few times.

And why isn't putting a new roll of toilet paper on the holder in there somewhere?
THAT should have been #1.

You have to get the wheel off to bleed brakes. ;) The wheel part is assumed.
