Gunnair Gunnair:
Still two or three of the agenda clowns left.

I think that what you call 'agenda clowns' seem to be part of general political discussion, at least on Forums. On both the left and right there are people who line politics up in terms of a particular set of issues ans convictions and refuse to move off the position.

I would agree with the term though ideologues of whatever stripe seem to be cut from the same cloth.

I have been following the Ontario political thing the last few days where the minority Liberal government is trying to gain NDP support for its budget. I have heard two Radio interviews with NDP leader Andrea Horvath who I think is clearly an 'agenda clown'. If party leaders adopt this stance it is a cue for others, Right?

Most of the folks who get jumped usually have done something stupid to deserve it. Why should the rest of us play pals with some clown whose first action here is too set off a pipebomb and then pretend that they're some kind of innocent victim? :|

The problem is that if they do that then it generally hounds them into the next thread where their comments are brushed off as being lunacy and they never get a chance to prove they actually do know their topics at times and can learn from past threads.

andy for one, he will be steadily trolled and laughed at despite making far better points in one thread but still being mocked and laughed at without actually considering his points.

Andy reaps what he sows. He came here to stir shit and thoroughly enjoys it. The fact that he makes the occasional good post is lost in the general noise of his sarcasm, trolling, and predictable agendas.

No offense to andy because he has a wit and sense of humour I quite enjoy, but he's still a troll. A troll can't be "trolled at", can it?

I'm not arguing about the fact he may troll, what I am saying is that when he does make a good post it is simply discarded because it is andy.

You just reminded me of a guy I knew on a game site I played on years ago. He was a right asshole to people in the game even if they weren't saying anything.
But he was a funny, well-spoken asshole which made it quite enjoyable to watch  There was some thought and imagination to it instead of the peurile and all too frequently used "I fucked your mom" idiocy or potty humour.

That's why would should respond to the post, and not to the poster.

I know I can make very stupid comments, and if you want to attack me on those, be my guest, I deserve it. Just don't take it to the next thread... I so hate that
(yeah, I know, I have done that too... I try not to tho :P)

Back to the reap what you sow. If you play the dick in multiple threads, don't be surprised when that's all that you become in the eyes of posters irrespective of what you post.

I agree Khar.

It's too much of that garbage that drives me away from the site and from making contributions to it.

Not that that matters as I feel more or less obscure around here too.

Seeing the out-of-control threads locked down helps but it's too bad that the mods have to take that step to quash the undesirable behavior.

Internet forums bring out the special in people.

Is this what you were thinking? (Pardon the less-than-tactful terminology.)

I always wondered why people can't act the same in an Internet forum as they would in real life.
