http://www.myfoxny.com/story/29104123/2 ... a-blessing$1: A 5-year-old Alabama boy’s heartwarming act of kindness brought restaurant patrons to tears.
Josiah Duncan, 5, saw a homeless man outside of a Waffle House and asked his mother to buy the man a meal. Josiah’s mother Ava Faulk said that when nobody waited on the man, her son jumped up and got him a menu.
Before the homeless man bit into his hamburger, Josiah had one thing left to do — he said a blessing.
WSFA reported:
Josiah sang the blessing as loud as his little voice could muster.
"God our Father, God our Father, we thank you, we thank you, for our many blessings, for our many blessings, Amen, Amen."
"The man cried. I cried. Everybody cried," Faulk admitted.

How sweet. The homeless guy will be hungry in a few hours and just as homeless. How about actually giving him a home, as has been done in Medicine Hat? (not the mom and the kid, but from the mom's taxes, in part.) this is just people patting themselves on the bach how sensitive they are, while being unwilling to actually contribute in a way that solves the problem.

How about getting off your ass and helping homeless people rather than being a mouthpiece on an online forum? You're no better than these people you criticise. You claim to do your part by talking about it so you can feel better and pat yourself on the back.

I thought it was about a sweet little boy. ... who was certainly not looking for a pat on the back. He did something that he felt was the right thing to do. A simple act of kindness for a total stranger. Just because he wanted to. We could all use a lot more of that in our world.

You don't seriously expect andytroll to do anything except bitch on-line about how "the rich" need to pony up and pay for his poor lifestyle choices. And by "the rich" I mean everyone making more than the minimum wage andy makes slinging shitty coffee at Tim Hortons.

How sweet of you. The homeless are helped by government action - no individual has those kinds of resources. Buying them a hamburger "with bacon on it" isn't going to cut it. Do what the people of Medicine Hat did - elect a government that will actually step up. (And doubtless see the money they invested actually saved them money down the road.)
