Dreary and overcast for the last three days with light cold drizzle. Just plain miserable in Ottawa. No snow yet. I know you westerners are willing to give us some of yours. Hey I am ready.

When I moved from Vancouver Island to Calgary, my family laughed at me because they said I was going to freeze. In the last 4 1/2 years, I have learned to appreciate the fact that a Southern Alberta winter is superior to anything I endured on the coast. Considering the basic absence of rain and perpetual cloud cover, and not needing to try to find shoes that aren't soggy, I'd prefer to spend the months of November to February in Cowtown. It might be freezing, but it's dry cold, not bone chilling, plus it's sunny, there's those amazing Chinook winds that give us the luxury of running around in tshirts in January. I never thought I'd be extolling the virtues of winters in Alberta, but here I am laughing at my family, snowed in, boiling their drinking water while I sit here feeling the warm sun pour in through my office window...

I'm south of you a couple hours in the pass. The temp has gone from -31 to -10,the winds are howling(west)the plows cant keep the drifts off the highway now. My bud's heading to cowtown to get his passport tommorow morning at around 6am. I dont envy him.

Then he's heading to the coast. Sounds like there getting another blast of the white stuff,up to 20 cm's.

Any of you wetcoasters have an update on the storm?

Or should that be...."white" coasters? :o

Well, I don't envy anyone who drives in this weather, I should have mentioned that I don't drive when it gets all icy because I am afraid of killing myslef or someone else. Fortunately, I live across the street from work...

I am amazed at the weather on the Island these days; the last time I think there was that much snow on the ground was back during the earlier part of 1997, when it snowed so much it shut down the city of Victoria for days. Well, Coastal BC, get ready for some more flooding; there's only so many places for all that water to go before it's in your basement. Meanwhile, Calgary is warming up and lots of sun! Yay seratonin!

We're expecting a low of 21 C tonight and a high of 28 C tomorrow. Weekend will be much the same, and pay day is tomorrow :D. Currently 26 C with a nice breeze coming off the ocean.

Ahh yes, the good old slushy rain. Dam you God. If you want it to rain, then let it rain, if you want it to snow, then let it snow. Don't give us both atthe same time dammit.
