I'm also going to throw my weight behind the bear spray for a couple of reasons.

1. As much as I may disagree with it...Handguns are illegal for a normal citizen to carry for personal protection. If you get caught with it, you're in deeper trouble than the shit-stain that you decided needed to be removed from the gene pool. As well, unless you are proficient with the weapon, you're not going to do any good with it.

2. Bear spray can be legally justified for you to carry in your vehicle. "I travel the back roads in Northern Sask" should be enough.

3. When you get back to civilization, you can report the incident to police and you can describe your attacker. 6' male, with bloodshot eyes that won't stop leaking, and a big red welt on his face from where I kicked him in the mouth while he was lying on the ground in a puddle of his own piss, crying for his mommy and begging I don't leave him lying defenseless on the highway in Northern Sask where the bears might eat him.

The first thing you should know when carrying any type of weapon is that it CAN be used against you. If you don't know how to use it properly, if you haven't been trained to use it, or if the agressor seizes from you during altercation, you can get killed by your own weapon. Always remember that.

You can be, you can also be killed with no weapon at all. Getting a knife out of someone's hands is incredibly diificult, same goes for a firearm.

A pen can kill, and from the looks of it, you're standard ballpoint would be far more lethal. At least with a police baton, knife, dog, bear spray, etc. there is an intimidation factor.


I'd personally go for the guard dog and bear spray (bring one when you can't bring the other) unless you're incredibly experienced in another method of defending yourself (i.e. you're a skilled martial artist, you are an accomplished shot/you know how to hide contraband)

2) Find a deep lake and let the fishies play with the gun and forget about the criminal - the bastard had it coming.

I'd recommend fucking with the barrel and firing pin before you do that, so that even if they do manage to recover the handgun, they won't be able to tie it to the homicide.

3) My personal favorite: dip the pistol in gasoline to clean off any prints and then leave it on the body. Nothing pisses the police off more than when you leave the weapon on the body - then they have no one to tie it to (assuming you weren't stupid enough to register it).

And remember to clean your hands for blowback, and pray you didn't leave any evidence behind. Clean your car afterwards, top to bottom, wash your clothes(or better yet burn 'em) and lawyer up if the cops even come looking.

I really hate to share trade secrets but what the hell....

Put the pistol in a medium size garbage bag. Seal it with the pistol loaded and safety off - when you fire the pistol the brass and the gas stay in the bag. No blowback and any cop testing you for GSR will instantly dismiss you as a suspect.

I have one my grandfather (presumably) picked up in his tour of duty in WWII, the back of the blade before the bend is covered with engraved notches, which my only guess relates to how soldiers used to notch their hilts with all their kills, which if this is the case, scares me, since it has over a hundred...

Unfortunately we never could ask our grandfather where he got it, since by the time we found it, he was too far gone with alzheimers.

Different locations different reactions, the people from the states are far more accepting of the notion of carrying a firearm for protection. And while we may have twice the murder rate, we have half the rape rate...

To prove my point that morals change with the location, I'm sure few of you would disagree with a woman carrying a kalashnikov or pistol in sub saharan africa to defend herself.

What is evident is that people in different locations require different methods of defense and protection. If a person carries a gun in NYC, I'd say they might wish to reevaluate how at risk they are, when there is a beat cop practically at the end of every street corner. If a person lives out in the boonies, when it could be more then half an hour for a cop to come to protect them, I would not say it is unreasonable to look into protecting yourself with a firearm.

Gotta get something small, but effective. A knife is good, but that involves getting close, sometimes not always good. If you have a police baton its the same thing, except it is easier to block. Bart has the best idea. Get a gun. Learn to use it well. You will never have to discharge it, they will shite themselves when you pull it out. They always back down when you do I personally like the H&K USP

Don't get a gun.

Seizing the aggresor's knife is a lot harder than seizing a gun. However unless you really know what you're doing i wouldn't suggest a knife.

You need it know, not in 10 years, so martial arts won't do it.

I suggest either bear spray or some bleach in a spray bottle. Maybe a flare too.

You can always run them over, it's better to be calm than engaging in a
high-speed pursuit.

Don't get a bat, it's quite easy to disarm someone who approaches you with a bat.

You can also get a CB.

So... report it to the police maybe these guys just haven't been caught yet.

Get a CB and if it happens again seek help and prepare for an eventual confrontation with pepper spray/bleach and do not engage in a high-speed pursuit, if you see the oportunity you can also run them over.

Get a gun and learn how to use it. I prefer a bow and some other home made weapons, but I've had practice with them. A handgun is the easiest to use, and easiest to conceal as far as I can tell. Or if you can, get them beat up by some other big Natives, if you get big white guys to do it then they won't stop until they've beat the big White guys but if you use Natives, they'll back off. Natives are a lot more physical then most people but they usually odn't like to take it unless their pride is attacked.

In order for that to work surefire you'd need to purchase incendiary bullets, which would require a magnum handgun to my knowledge, and heck if you're going magnum you might as well go for the Desert Eagle... As overplayed in the movies as it is.

I haven't met anyone who objects to their actions, in fact most of the guys I know ended up routing for them by the end... And its far better then the shit they put on lifetime... whats that show where there are women FBI agents who for some reason don't carry guns when pursuing a psycopathic murderer, but eventually triumph because as women they have ESP? Yeah... That show pisses me off and I've only seen it twice (same episode too)

I'd say its one of the few chick flicks which manage to sufficiently entertain everyone. Similiar to Grosse Point Blank, although I'd say Grosse Point did a better job.
