Just wondering since we have people from all across the country here......What are the pubs and clubs to go to in your city/town/village. Could be helpful for people lookin for a good time in another city. In Edmonton here are some of the more popular places....

WEST END:

Rum Jungle and Escape (both nightclubs and both in West Edmonton Mall) little upscalish $5 cover charge (could be free if your in the army and depending whos working the door) play hip hop dance and top 40

Cowboys their across Canada and play mostly country and top 40 once again $5 cover charge

Santanas never been there prolly never will go but been told its alright

Beerhunter straightup sports bar no cover really good priced drinks VERY friendly crowd pool tables and BIG BUCK HUNTER 2! BWAHAHAHAHAHA

DOWNTOWN:

Globe/Overtime/Liquid all three are downtown Liquid only 21+ and a very strict dress code. Globe mostly younger crowd oldies and top 40 (weird). Overtime been in the news alot cost the chief of police his job etc etc.

Chase hip hop (or so I've heared)

Sherlock Holmes and Elephant and Castle a little bit of England in Canada

Stonehouse/Druid/Celias all good pubs

Gas Pump well....... lets just leave it at that

NORTHSIDE:

Greenhouse (I think its closed now) no cover for military and first beer on the house.

Clareview Pub watch your back here but its alright.

Richards Pub mostly army guys, easy girls and young punks the play top 40 and dance, hip hop

Southside:

Whyte avenue (its the "strip" in Edmonton) you name the type of place and its here Cook County Saloon, Club 69, Iron Horse, and many many more.

Thats pretty much all I can think of right now...... or I'm just getting to lazy to type more

BTW standard cover charge in edmonton is $5 and coat check is $2 so ALWAYS make sure you have a fiver and a toonie on hand just to be sure

:D

Here it all depends on what floats your boat, but you can't really go wrong - Halifax has more bars per capita than any other city in Canada!

Some Key places:

Seahorse
Economy Shoe Shop
The Liquor Dome (three bars in one, Cheers, My Apartment and Lawrences)
The Granite Brewery
Alexanders
The Marquee
The Thirsty Duck
The Attic

I've only been to Filthy McNasty's on Whyte Ave, it was pretty decent. In Camrose (an hour south of Edmonton), I usually go to the Irish Pub. It's open mic night every Wednesday and Friday and there is some really great music. It's always a good time there. A lot of people go the OC's or the Pulse, those are more nightclub bars with dancing and stuff. There usually isn't a cover charge, but sometimes they have someone come in. There is also the Player's Club which has pool tables and sometimes bands come in. It's pretty good...but it's no Pub (awesome food here too, just wicked steak sandwhich)...

In Saint John you can visit The Three Mile or Studio 54. They're both pretty good if you like to dance and whatnot. Another spot that is nice to sit and have a few is O'Malley's. Other than that there isn't much anymore, there used to be five or six awesome bars uptown (really downtown but they call it uptown :?: ) but they all shut down  .

Some favourite watering holes in Montreal:

-The Cock'n Bull: no-nonsense, no-fuss place to get tanked...

-Le Bifteck: no-nonsense, no-fuss place to get tanked...

-McKibbin's: no-nonsense, no-fuss place to get tanked... Celtic music on main level...

-Brutopia: no-nonsense, no-fuss place to get tanked... with some pretty good live music and excellent male/female ratio... 8)

Basically I'm pretty happy as long as the drinks are reasonably priced. :D
