1969 Impala. Bought it for 1,800.00 when I was 17 and it had 36,000 original miles on it. It was in storage and still had pollyglass tires!! It is now on blocks at my old mans farm with about 68,000 miles on it. It's in great shape.

Ah poly-glass tires...the worst of both worlds. I'd almost forgotten those had ever existed.
Those were very cool cars, Robair. I always wanted one...a particular one that I used to see every day on the way to school way back when. Which engine/tranny/carb does yours have?

My first car was a 1970 Pontiac Lemans that I "cloned" into a GTO. The 400ci engine was fairly modded up and was such a torque monster that you could do a decent burnout even starting out a freeway speeds. That car was so dangerous and impractical I don't know what I was thinking back then but it goes without saying that it was fun to drive!

My Truck! My Tank Green Doge Ram 1986, two wheel drive, with a slant 6! I loved that thing. We had good times. Nothing like taking it out on the back roads and going to town. Yes it was a POS but it was a good POS!

... compared to some of the cars you guys have owned. My first was a 1986 VW Jetta, coloured grey and rust.
Bought with 180K km on it, had to get rid of at 225K cos the floor was developing swiss cheese syndrome. Damn shame too, cos the motor was in great shape.
I should have bought the 65 Mustang the guy up the street was selling for $5K... *sigh*

The 'ol impala might be worth more if it was two door, but it's got four of 'em. 327, two barrel, 3 spd auto. Still all original, still has all dealers documents in glove box. Needs paint, SK gravel chips on the hood...
Most suprising: NO MICE! all those years in storage, mothballs work I guess.

Just to show how young I am, my first car was a '98 Rover 200. It was a good little car until the head gasket packed in.

1973 Kawasaki 350 S2 Mach II, the only 2-stroke 3-cylinder bike I would ever own. Got it when it was only a couple of years old, and with very few miles. Quick as all hell, very fun bike.

My first car was a 1969 Ford Fairlane. The windshield leaked when it rain so much that my feet would get wet. It was a Ford so I really can't consider it my first car. My next choice was much better, it was a 1972 Nova SS loaded from the factory which I still have. It's in my garage and only has 49,000 original miles on it. I've been a Chevy guy ever since.

1958 Chevy purchased for $250 from a Navy buddy who then borrowed it for the night and disappeared all weekend. Drove it around for a couple of months. Then Navy buddy wanted to buy it back. He turned around and sold it to someone who rolled it.
We had an auto shop on base and we Navy guys were always buying cars from each other:
Cars I purchased and sold while in the Navy:
1958 chevy
1957 Volkwagon
1958 Thunderbird
1962 Chevy Nova convertable
1965 Dodge Dart Convertable w/ cammed and bored 273 v-8, fender well headers. I crashed it 40 mph backwards into a telephone pole. Racing down a wet hill, on bald tires, someone pulled out onto the road in front of me and I spun out. Backend all smashed up. A Navy buddy had smashed up front end of of his 1965 Barracuda. So I gave him the front end of my dodge dart. We called his new car the "Cuda-Dart".
I then purchased a 1965 Plymouth Valiant convertable, pulled the six banger, put in my 273 V-8 from the Dart.
Left the Navy, got married, gave away the hot rod and purchased a brand new 1972 Mercury Capri V-6 built in Germany. Four on the floor. What a great car!
The cars from the 50's and 60's were the best. Like land yachts, real chome inside and out.

A 1971 Dodge Colt that I paid US$275 for in 1985.
In 1986 I sold it for $500. Not bad.
