why is it that more and more women are cutting their hair short?

i've been noticing that women are getting these boyish hair cuts, instead of the traditional beautiful long wavy hair. now granted, there are some women that the boyish haircut looks good on, Victoria Beckum (sp?) comes to mind, but for the most part i really think short hair takes away from a womans beauty.

personally, the longer the better, i loooovvvee a woman with nice long hair ...on their head....i'm not THAT french
