fire_i fire_i: Nowhere. I agree that's going too far. It's just a name, not an instructions booklet.
On the other hand, note that this wasn't prompted by governmental or legal interference, but by actions by consumers themselves. One could say the company's decision not to change the name to an English-only expression is some kind of public relations attempt. They're giving their consumers what they want, even though it IS wholly unecessary.
Of course, it was done by consumers only. Why then make such a big deal in the 1st place? If they want, they can just go somewhere else for their coffee.
But, in all circumstance, the French Quebec media got involved in this issue. Who is to say that their buddies at the PQ didn't get this started. We all know the `` Bias`` in the Quebec media.
Basically, these consumers should just shut up along with Mouvement Montreal francais.

ziggy : I'm just confused by whatever you say. Give out the context when you speak, please!
Pimpbrewski : I agree on one thing : it was unecessary to want the company to change its signs to begin with. I strong disagree on another : people who disagree with a situation should NOT just shut up. If they believe it's important enough for them to stand for it, then they should stand for it.
Taxthis : Okay I don't really want to say this, but apparently I'm forced to.
I never lived outside Quebec, but I travelled to Ontario, PEI and the USA - and let me tell you, everywhere, there was an apparent lack of respect for francophones. Be it a school trip or just a familial vacation, there always were many people to give us hateful looks, or even insult us, whenever someone spoke a French word.
Then there are people I know who either lived a short time outside the province or spent a summer in the ROC, mostly to work. Out of about a half dozen people, not one has not felt at least slight disrespect for the simple fact he was a frenchy, and only one had an overall positive opinion of the people he met over there (the other opinions ranged from "annoying and borderline xenophobic" to "bigots that make me want to puke").
And finally there are the much less significant things I see on internet forums. This very forum is a primary offender... not one will admit being hateful of francophones, but every time I come here, I see at least one post that's unecessarilly hateful and insulting of francophones/québécois. I've seen it all : crybabies (all the freaking time), buggers, hags, whiners, pricks (Oh the irony), racists (Ditto), incompetents, lazy, treacherous, hypocrites, cowards, and in just one page of this thread, we've been accused of bigotry, racism and arrogance and have been called frogs (which is *very* derogatory, yet unlike words like "nigger", appear to be widely accepted on these boards).
So look. You see us francophones as arrogant. I could see you anglophones as overwhelmingly disagreable. But I don't, because that WOULD be generalizing, even though there ARE many idiots (as much as 15%, I'd dare to say). It's the same for everyone, but we don't notice unless we're with "them". We won't go anywhere as long as we just keep on giving back every blow.

Cmon now Suckthis,
Could it be that it's that time of the month for ya ?
You come on here making personal attacks towards the French. You being a NOOB and all.
Ahhhhh, the thing is that you probably never have been to Quebec.
Also, you proceeded to go after Brenda on another thread. The worst is when you commented on her being a new Canadian. Here is one for ya, at this point, she probably knows more about being a Canadian than you. That being said, she is probably a better Canadian right now than you will ever be.
That's pretty much a new low, even for you, screwthis.
So, take the time to chill on this forum. Get a few posts in before you go on to make all sorts of accusations. Those are respected members of this forum that you are talking about.
Thank you and good night

Hey, Taxthis, Pimp is nice, okay?
Could you both please leave me out of a Quebec discussion? I've never been there, so I have no opinion on that ![Angel [angel]](./images/smilies/angel1.gif)

A noob is a newbie.
As far as Canadian, I am a true Canadian buddy.
And the drinking part, only having fun. Nothing that you should be concerned about. At least, I can afford to buy a case of beer.
This dude only got 20 or so posts and all he's done is insult everyone on this site. Not much eh!!!
And as far as Brenda, I don't need to defend her. She is mature enough to handle herself. I was only commenting on the fact that you keep insulting and provoking just about everybody in the short time that you have been here.
I don't care much if you keep going personally, it only shows your immaturity, that's all. So have a nice day Newbie.

Think thats what the pimper was referring to. No, he was refering to this: $1: and what country did you say you were from? Never mind! What a waste either way.
but that was not from Taxthis, but from our probably welfare receiving illegal animal shelter holder who puts the blame for everything that goes wrong in her life on anybody else
(read her blog, you'll find out yourself, I didn't just make this up )
(oh, she is gonna be pissed at me now )
