Kelfka Kelfka: fire_i fire_i: BartSimpson BartSimpson: Let Quebec separate and then take away the chequebook.
That ought to be fun to watch. Oh, we'd get over it... we're far from being that hopeless, really. If we get a kick in the knees, we'll react, we won't just lay down and complain. And everyone, please don't say complaining's the only thing we've been doing since decades... I see that comment coming from miles away. One way Quebec could react is by simply over-taxing all ships bound for Canada comming through the St-Lawrence river and all land shiping through the territory. Bye bye low prices!
We wouldn't do that unless we'd get a good reason to be asses towards Canada - and by that I imply we'd do nothing to screw Canada if they didn't do it in the first place themselves.

Fortunately, Quebec doesn't have sole ownership of the St Lawrence river so it wouldn't matter at all. It borders the U.S and Ontario. If problems arose, it'd be between Canada and the U.S (sorry, no Quebec)

You couldn't do anything anyways. No need to puff out your chest.

Ok, you first.
As I said, there isn't much Quebec can do because they don't own the river.

Maybe we'd even let Quebec use it a little.

If not, they can always ask the natives up north to ship things through them...for a price. Then again, most of N Quebec would be Canadian anyways so no dice there.

The US and Canada don't own the part from Ontario-Quebec border all the way to the gulf.

Same logic applies to other countries. Brazil doesn't have control on all of the Amazon. Egypt doesn't control all of the Nile. Same thing will be applied for the St Lawrence...Quebec doesn't control (and will never) control all of that river.

Your right, as I stated above, any troubles on the river would be with Canada and the U.S, not Quebec.

No, you just decided to jump in with pompousness and play police. $1: The US and Canada don't own the part from Ontario-Quebec border all the way to the gulf.
They do actually.
