PQ leader Andre Boisclair is suspecting that Gilles Duceppe is trying to take a hold of his leadership.

But to better illustrate the Bloc, let's take a look at what Mario posted earlier.

I generally have a rather positive view of Gilles Duceppe, even though I'm enormously disappointed by his handling of the Shane Doan affair... but eh, I don't expect a party I consider shouldn't exist as one that will really be very productive. Still, to cut the Bloc some slack, they were backed by other parties, so it's not like they're the only "idiots" in the govt.

But regardless, I thought Boisclair couldn't really get worse, but... he did. He's basically begging for the PQ to keep up with its history of impatience and firing its chiefs frequently - this time they'd have plenty of reasons... (still, if they do fire him, I'd be ready to bet a toonie they'd think everything would be instantaneously fixed, which is definitely not true, so they'd better keep that wreck of a leader until things settle down). This time though I must say Duceppe has reacted properly, instead of replying to Boisclair he just said he wouldn't comment to the media and keep things private - a wise move for sure.

The PQ needs a serious and mature introspection if it wants to survive, but apparently the party is filled with people too childish to understand the obvious. Duceppe may want to take over the party in a few years, but one has to wonder if it won't have collapsed entirely by then.

Boisclair steps down as leader of Parti Québécois:

Parti Québécois Leader André Boisclair resigned Tuesday after weeks of speculation about his political future following the party's plunge in the March election and a public spat with his Bloc counterpart, Gilles Duceppe.

Boisclair confirmed he was stepping down during a brief and dignified appearance in front of reporters and his caucus at the provincial legislature in Quebec City Tuesday morning — the same day politicians were returning for the spring session.

To the PQ: Keep fighting boys. At least until the party disappears completly. You cannot even get along amongst yourselves, so how can you expect to lead a party 'stie de péquistes, vous me faites rire.

No wonder the PQ's filled with whining, it's basically like an European coalition government, except that it's a party and not from Europe. There's people from all over the political spectrum, so everyone's unhappy all the time, and generally that ends up falling on the chief. This time though, they... pretty much had good reasons. Boisclair simply isn't good enough to lead a party. Many times it has been said he has bad judgement, but leaving before being fired was probably the best decision he could take.

Unsurprisingly, rumors name Duceppe as successor. Now the question is, who in the world would end up leading the Bloc?
