.

Quebec separatists met on December 1 to protest Canada's stance on Palestine and celebrate the so-called "Maple Spring" by stomping and driving over the Canadian flag.

The video resembles something out of the Middle East with anti-American groups defacing the American Flag. A group who strives for Anglo rights in Quebec, Put the Flag Back, is distributing the video

It was surprisingly hard to watch that video. Not to take a page out of Bart's book, but I feel like if I'd been there, there is a very real chance there would've been violence.

Pity they chose to blur out the faces.

We should really bring back the Maple Leaf Forever as our National Anthem. It's completely disgusting the way Quebec treats this country. They're rather lucky that we're a civilized nation, if they were in any other country, there'd be a civil war.

Not sure about civil war, but there's every likelihood about having far less civility.

Still, thus appears to be an exercise in free speech and all as much as one may dislike it.

However, when a few Canadians choose to exercise their right to free speech, in a similar manner, we're all expected to apologize for their insensitivity towards Quebec.

That depends. If one opts to exercise the broad brush strokes on a very localized incident, then yes. If it focuses on the shitpumps involved, then of course not.

Not likely especially since National Flags don't hit back. My guess is that they'll continue to demonstrate their distain for the RoC and seperatist solidarity by violently attacking inanimate objects and holding tupperware parties to raise money for their cause.

Some real tough folks those separatists.

Hell, at least their parents tried to blow thing up, fortunately it was more often than not themselves or at best mail boxes but, from demonstraions like this it's apprent they had alot more moxie than today's garden variety Seperatist. [B-o]
