When D'Souza makes an appearance it's time to change the thread title to How To Recognize A Swindler. No wonder the current "law? what law?" Christian right loves him so much.

The way I saw it D'Souza wrote a popular book and made a movie, both of which were unflattering to Obama and both of which were very successful. Obama's people wanted to get him and they got him.

Swindler is your opinion. My opinion is Obama's people targeted D'Souza.

What was D’Souza’s crime?

D’Souza pleaded guilty to a federal felony, admitting he uncharacteristically violated the law by convincing two associates to donate each to the unsuccessful Senate race of Wendy Long, a college friend.

Breaking campaign finance laws, D’Souza reimbursed to each of his two straw donors the $5,000 each had contributed, a misstep D’Souza could have avoided by contributing the $10,000 to a PAC supporting Long’s candidacy directly.

He’s called in an “impulsive decision” he reached without giving the matter much thought.

“I really should have called my lawyer to get some advice,” D’Souza told WND in a telephone interview. “There were any number of ways I could have gotten Wendy Long the $10,000 legally. If I had just gifted her the money, there would have been no legal problem. But I was in a rush and I made a quick decision that I obviously should have thought about more seriously.”

Except for this offense, D’Souza, now 54 years old, has a completely clean criminal record.

But the fact you can't actually point to anything he said concerning the topic here that was incorrect suggests to me you don't actually have anything.

His general point is fascists and communists are two sides of the same left-wing that on occasion throughout history have Brown versus Red battles for dominance of the socialist extreme.

I don't have to prove anything. All the existence of creatures like D'Souza and the rest of your warped heroes does is prove that Marshall McCluhan's maxim has mutated. The medium is no longer solely the message, although the internet has inarguably managed to make all discourse and journalism that much worse. The messenger is now the message, with whatever it is they're saying, and the very information system itself, being drowned by the disgusting toxic ideology that oozes from your buddies like pus from an infected wound.

It's early yet so you have time. Go post something from someone that actually manages to be worse than D'Souza or Levant at being swindlers. With the circles you're travelling in it shouldn't be hard for you to find someone in short order who is completely awful saying/doing something completely awful.

I did. I called D'Souza a swindler, which he provably is because he did time in prison for campaign finance fraud. And you countered with some "Dinesh is innocent!" tripe that was posted on D'Souza's own website. Really convincing there, chief. Did the "journalism" school you went to give you a slide-whistle or a decoder ring from a box of cereal instead of a diploma when you graduated?

D'Souza says Mussolini was the quintessential fascist. We know Mussolini started out as at least a Socialist heavily influenced by Marx. In fact, D'Souza claims that when Mussolini did his march on Rome in 1922 to establish the world's first fascist regime Lenin sent a telegram of congratulations.

I believe there's an argument Mussolini grew out of his Marxist roots to stress Nationalism. Nevertheless according to D'Souza:

Not when the whole purpose of this is to further the libertarian anarcho-capitalist of destroying every single social good they can lay their hands on through privatization. Kay, I'm going to go off-topic with you for a sec just because it interests me.

Do I need to look that up? Is it an actual thing. I'm familiar with say Stefan Molyneux who when I first started listening to him gave me the impression he was a Libertarian, then I heard him explaining how he was some variety of anarchist.

With him, it seems like it's kind of mental masturbation where he doesn't think his brand of anarchy will ever actually be done, but wouldn't it be great if individuals could rely on other individuals to be responsible and basically nobody would be a jerk, so we could all live happily with each other with no government setting rules? At least that's the impression I got on what he was talking about.

But nobody seems to be actually doing much about that one, so who are these "libertarian anarcho-capitalists" destroying every single social good they can lay their hands on through privatization? They sound scary. How do they do it? Do you mean privatize to individuals? Privatize to corporations? Privatize to government overseen but privately managed groups a la Trans Link in BC? Can you give me an example of an LAC?

I need to know more about these "libertarian anarcho-capitalists." It's all too fascinating. I almost want to look it up, but no. Let's hear it from the source first. What's the Thanos definition, so I know we're talking about the same thing.

I don't think I ever did say public schools or public health are just like Mussolini.

However, I do think that when you say D'Souza "wandered into an actual historical fact" when he describes how Fascism as structured by Mussolini was a central government, authoritarian management, by the state for the state, in a methodology of collectivism evolving out of Marxism that's good enough for me.

My only point would be that such a societal structure belongs on the left. So when fascists fight marxists it's Brown left-wing versus Red left-wing.
