You wanna talkabout cult's. You don't wanna go there, ok?
actually...i do in fact want to go there..i was in fact in the born-again movement for a very short period of time.the scams perpetrated on the congregration was atrocious...the "healing sessions" were a total joke...the "minister" placing his hand on some woman claiming the holy spirit is entering you then faints and falls to the floor..and the talking in tongues...same principle...nothing more than mass hysteria..now allow me to save the best for last: we had this joker..the most greasy con-man you could imagine steve hage who staged a "mens conference" where all the men had to pay 50$ to attend(hage was no doubt laughing himself silly to the bank)..nows heres the part i like...he claimed that as a child growing up in the rough end of los angeles he was so bad he was actually the only white kid admitted to an exclusively black street gang all before he "found" jesus..now of course would a group of born-again moonies examine the sociological aspects of such a notion?? of course not!!!!! i mean how could any born-again whacko lie??
I wouldn't cry over money, whatever you think is stealing or implying or assuming is happening, ASSUMPTIONS are just that. Let's see some proof. Of this scam. I have undeniable proof of this. Merriam-Webster Dictionary: cult; n; 1 formal religious veneration 2: a religious system; also: it's adherants 3faddish devotion; also: a group of persons showing such devotion--cult.ist n
EVERYTHING...about the catholic CULT is immoral, unethical, sleazy, lying, cheating, HYPOCRITICAL...
Here's a story of a kid that was forced into catholicism.
I guess it's OK to 'fuck kids and beat them' .I was born into the catholic religion. I had it shoved down my throat and up my ass! I was an altarboy. I had no say in the matter. Neither did any of the other male members of my family. When the priest said he was taking a few 'chosen' altar boys on a camping trip, It was never a question with parents as to whether or not the 'chosen one' would be going! I leave the 'week-end goings-on' to your imagination. We had NO WHERE to turn! No one would listen to us. It is still being denied!
We were little kids!
We did our chores all week in order to earn an allowance. Although we had earned it and it was supposed to be our spending money, we were 'guilted' into putting it in the collection plate on sunday.
We went to catechism for 2 hours on saturday and served mass on sunday. We attended every 'Holy Day of Obligation'.And there were many.We served/attended Benediction. This was not required of most adults. We gave up what our parents determined to be our favorite food/treat/activity for the month of lent. I don't ever recall my parents giving up a damn thing. Or any other adult for that matter! This in the name of strenghtening our belief in God! We were raised with the adage 'DO AS I SAY. NOT AS I DO'! Not just at home but everywhere within the catholic experience.Adults could and did do as they bloody well pleased and not even God could help the child who ever should question adult behaviorour.Punishment was swift and severe. But it was to be considered an honor to have the priest come over and have dinner with the family and drink till all hours!!!
Do you want to hear about catholic schools run by the nuns? I don't have any fond memories of those years either!
No wait! There are others on this board who experienced much of what I did and probably more. And they too attended catholic schools. Maybe one or two of them would tell you about their experiences.
Our chidhood was supposed to be carefree. Our teachers were supposed to look out for us. Protect us. They were supposed to be our role models. I thank God that I didn't grow up to be anything like them!
Commandments. Where the hell did that come from???
In the catholic church the 'commandments' are diligently enforced on the weak by the stong!
