Their are 3 widely accepted and consistent variables amongst anti-abortion people (I am one of them), being:

1) Abortion in the circumstance of serious risk to pregnant woman`s life.
2) After giving birth the woman is not forced to keep and raise the child.
3) Human life deserves rights and freedoms at conception

Now, the reason we call it human life and not the 'clump of cells' the Pro Choice side uses (which they do to somehow humanize the horrific procedure) is because it takes the zygote as the first stage for me and you to occur.

The zygote (conception) is the first stage of human species.

It has a unique DNA.

Meaning the pro choice side has to wager at what point HUMAN LIFE deserves rights and freedoms.

Pro Choice is all over the map on that, going from first heart beat, to no abortion after 3rd trimester, to you can have it on-demand until birth.

A big chunk of pro choicers have a problem with abortion after the embryo has developed into the fetus.

So we can see Pro Life is consistent while Pro Choice is not.

Now I am going to say for the sake of it - that the gov. cannot determine which side is right to go with.

In this cirumstance we have to look at the outcome of what if this side is wrong or if that side is wrong, this is where the Pascal-style wager I and many Pro Lifers conclude to:

If the Pro Life side is wrong we have caused 9 months of inconvenience, emotional pain, and physical pain (birth) to millions of woman. But if the woman's life is risked we believe they can abort.

But if the Pro Choice side is wrong....well all of you know what we have to realize then...realize that we have killed millions of human lives, and perhaps a billion worldwide.

Which wager makes sense to you?

I respect your commitment to your beliefs but I think we are all abortioned out here. We know how you feel about it. If you were going to change anyones mind on abortion you would have done it by now.

He know's the argument about how being an open minded athiest is work of the devil is complete bullshit through and through, so he has to default to the one and possibly only argument religion has in it's favour.

The CBC did a social experiment a few months ago on Facebook called "The Great Canadian Wishlist".

The Top 5 goes as:

1) Abolish Abortion in Canada
2) I wish that Canada would remain Pro Choice
3) Restore the Traditional Definition of Marriage
4) For a spiritual revival in our nation
5) I wish that tuition fees would be either lowered or eliminated

I am Pro Life, but 4) is what touched me the most and resembled my feelings the most.

$1:
You and me. Let's wish for a revival in Canada! =)

Canada was once a more spiritually active nation than even the United States. Four decades of secularization have changed the face of this country.

Although over 70 percent of Canadians still claim to be Christians today, many of them are inactive in their beliefs. Less than half of them are actively involved in a church or other spiritual community.

This is a call, not to bring Canada back into the past, but a forward-looking call into a future where Christians stand up for their beliefs and show who they are without fear!

We believe that it is time for this generation to step up, get out of our comfort zones and pray together for a spiritual revival in Canada from sea to sea to sea!

2 Chronicles 7:14:

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

The creator of the wish wrote this on the CBC website:

$1:
Why do I love Canada so deeply? Because it is my ‘home and native land’. Canada has such amazing potential, much of it squandered. Canada to me is a land of plenty, a land of unimaginable resources, a land of vision and dreams and hope. But Canada more recently has become a land of the cynical and despondent. We have lost so many of our dreams, our hopes, our aspirations. Now is the time to recapture our heritage. As we scratch below the surface, everywhere we look, we find a deep godly heritage in Canada’s history. This history is ours to
reclaim as our very own. Canada needs renewal, revival, and restoration like it has never needed it. We are on the edge of a precipice that many people refuse to see, but it is very real. I grieve for the rapid loss of so much that has made Canada great.

Canada is my past, my present, my future. I cry out for our beloved land that it may return to whom it really is. Jesus is the Lord of Canada, in a way which if recognized, can transform even dark corners of our land into beacons of light.

Wake up Canada! Come alive, Canada! Claim your inheritance before it is too late. Repent and turn from your self-absorption, and He will have mercy upon you and on your children’s children. Now is the hour! Now
is the time! Now is the day of salvation for our beloved land. The very soul of our nation is at stake. Let us not be found wanting.

http://www.cbc.ca/wish/2007/06/editorial_5.html

I so agree with this.

Canada needs to come back to their roots and embrace Christianity.

I pray for this daily for a national revival!

For the sheep to come back to their shepherd!

For this nation to come back to our lord and savior!
