I'm not surprised that this was on Fox, where else would it be? It fits right into the ideology that there are vast armies of enemies out there attacking the US. It also solves the problem of global warming-it's not actually the damage we're doing to the environment, it's a secret weapon. So there is no reason to change any environmental regulations, they're just fine. It also supports the massive militarization of their society, when faced with a weapon that is beyond your technology obviously you have to up the ante. <br /> <br /> I'm not surprised that lunatics say such things, but that media would feature it (though I'm not surprised with Fox).

U.S. weapons can't prevent treason from within. <img align=absmiddle src='images/smilies/eek.gif' alt='Eek!'> <br /> <br /> I honestly think U.S. militarization has nothing to do with bogeyman--simply special interests and the fact that the U.S. WOULD be at risk if thye simply didn't defend themselves. China is rapidly arming.<br /> <br /> I should add that I don't know what to believe these days, simply that Bill Clinton apparently snapped when asked if Katrina and Ivan were caused by global warming and said "only an idiot would think that Katrina was caused by global warming". <br /> <br /> If it wasn't that, the odds of two category 5 hurricans being in the same general location at practically the same time is unprecedented in history. The weatherman was arguing that hurricanes normally aren't as erratic as these two appeared on the screen and who knows maybe he's right--the technology does exist to do it and Cheney's company Haliburton already has contracts as part of the 200 billion dollar construction.
