I doubt the US will ever really win this war. They seem to be in complete denial about what's really happening. The majority of the Iraqi people do not not support. Iraqis who did support them no longer do. In the end, the US will just pack up and go, leaving four permanent bases to help in their conquests and expecting the UN to clean up after them.

Excellent point Kevin. It's like the not so intelligent dog chasing its own tail. But like Reverend says they were never in Iraq because of terrorists. That was a transparent lie from the beginning. Pure economics is why the US went to Iraq. It's pretty disgusting to witness what people will do to other people to make a dollar. Heartbreaking.

I normally don't hate anyone. But every time I see an American soldier hostage or an American citizen hostage, and looking as scared as anyone would in that position. I can't help but feel hatred towards the people who put these people in this position. The U.S government.

It's like vietnam, but in a region that has had nothing but military conflicts for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. The will of the people is too great to be overcome by the lies being spit out by the yanks. The Iraqi people will never believe that the war was for its own good because Saddam's gone and the Americans are still there and the people of Iraq are watching their own people die because of it. An illegal and immoral occupation to begin with, the "War on Iraq" is now quite apparently unwinnable. Gwynn Dyers predicted exactly this just prior to the war. He said that of the 3 different groups in Iraq, the only one that's well-enough organized to govern the country is Saddam Hussein's. Even without Saddam, Bush will never let this group take power for several obvious reasons. What can they do now? Nothing. The US has painted itself into a corner. And Bush still might get re-elected if the rumours are true that the military knows where Bin Laden is and they're just waiting until it's closer to presidential campaign time to kill/capture him.

I would not be the least bit surprised to hear that the U.S. military knows where bin Laden is and has known since 911. So far I really haven't seen proof that he was behind the tragedy, nor al Quaeda, the people said to be involved were all Saudi's and bin laden was out of favor with the Saudi's, nobody seems to really care to find the truth behind that day.

But really this idea which has been promoted by the administration that the Muslems hate the Christians blah blah...I really think it is b.s. that is promoted by the 'organization'. People, and I mean all people, will come to hate those they fear...it is as natural as life itself. You fear someone or something that is going to interfere with your ability to live, to reproduce, to survive and or thrive. So people will naturally hate those who are threatening their survival, and if you take this to the extreme, although it makes sense and is understandable for us to see this in the impoverished, it also rings true for those 'elite' who have warped minds now and are pursuing their 'rightful' lifestyle.

So those 'little' people who are standing in the way of the mighty to gain more toys, more money, oil, land and whatever; are hated by the big boys. It's an all around hate fest, and the average person like us, who are watching are perplexed because it seems irrational and simple to solve. The big boys stop stealing from the little guys and learn to play nice, when the little guys are fed, dry and allowed to live a normal lifestyle not fearing when there next meal will arrive,or when they will be shot in their bed; the fear will dissipate and we can all go back to being 'normal'.

But alas, the big boys just won't go away, hence the hate fest goes on, perhaps this is a case where a good spanking would have done some good! This is where that term 'spoiled brat' really means what it says!

Whelan, how dare you suggest such a peaceful solution. CNN's ratings would go right down the tubes. Right now it's the most entertaining reality show around. *gags*

Bush declared war on an idea. Then he declared that 60 countries had been infected with this idea. Then he declared that anybody not for him was against him. Then he attacked Afghanistan and littered the country from one end to the other with depleted uranium bullets and shrapnel thus destroying the water, the air and the land.
Now drug traffickers are back in business big time and Bush is not stopping it. Then Bush says that Iraq is the one, and Iraq is friends with terrorists and then Bush unleashes " shock and awe ". Bush has the beegeeziz bombed out of Iraq using depleted uranium weaponry of course. Then he invades and kills indiscriminately. Then he declares victory.
Then Bush tries to set up all sorts of business deals for American companies but does nothing to restore the infrastructure necessary for Iraqis to be able to live. When they protest, (cause people who have been given freedom surely have a right to question authority don't they), Bush hires more contractors from the "firm" and they persuade people to stop protesting or die.
Now it is a bloodbath and the emperor is living in the land of the "yes men". He is surrounded by these feeble minded sycophants who keep saying "yes George, whatever you say George". So having no press corp.s to worry about he is free to make up whatever stories he wants and have them published as the gospel cause God is on his side. That thing in the bible about "Thou shalt not kill" only applies to non-terrorists, it was a typo.
Sorry, it makes me so mad I could spit!
