themasta themasta:
I have a question. Why is it that some people write Xtian instead of Christian? Is it because you are lazy? Are you the same kind of people who write "Happy X-mas" on cards? Like wtf mate. Probably you are the same people who want to secualrize a religious holiday, Christmas is just about presents right? You people make me sick. You do not see me going around writing "Happy R-dan" (Ramadan) or any of that Happy Holidays bullsh!t. It is because I have respect for these religious traditions. I do not care if you are against religion, many are. But you can still show a little respect. I respect your beliefs (or lack thereof) I think you could respect mine.

Judging from your post, I don't think you do. Some guy writes Xtian and you start shitting on him, nice real. They teach you that in your little white Church? Oh and by the way, Christmas IS all about presents as well as family.....mate.

American Christians = Islamonutbags?

Great.

Please show me one instance of any of the following in the past decade to support your comments:

1) American Christians beheading infidels.

2) American Christians imposing a dress code on infidels.

3) American Christians beheading adulterers.

4) American Christians beheading anyone.

5) American Christians blowing up police & military units with car bombs.

6) American Christian suicide bombers.
$1:

While it is true you don't see the Xtian right blowing themselves up to take infidels with them you seem to have missed the main theme of the argument in that both groups seek to impose their religion & viewpoints unto the public.

You see the evidence in your country all the time. We see battles between those who want concrete visible symbols of Xtianity in courtrooms, in all schools, in Gov't buildings, the list goes on. They want their specific religious teachings taught in schools as fact along side real science & history. In almost every case it is the right-wing "radicals" groups attempting to do so. If there were not Americans fighing tooth & nail to prevent this the US would very much be a radical Xtian nation as every bit intolerant as islamic fundementalist nations. If the islamic fundementalists controlled a huge army occuping our countries what would we do to fight back? The absolute truth is that the reason you aren't behaving like the fundementalists we see on TV is not because of the Xtian right in your ranks but because of all the others who are against religion, any religion in charge of things.

Dress Code: Yes our society does up to a point. Virtually every catholic (& private schools) have dress codes. We have acceptable attire for buisness, dinner, parties, opera, etc. You can arrested for indecent exposure (which bikini's were prior to the 40's). Certainlt=y there are questions of degree here but who are we to judge them?

Imagine how much of US culture would be lost with the Xtian right in absolute charge? Every decade has seen religious groups protesting against "todays" music as obscene or devil worship. What about film? Imagine how many films would never have been made or allowed to be shown? There is absolutely no doubt in my that a society run by Xtian fundementalists would be every bit as restrictive & intolerant as an islamic fundementalists. Possibly Americans greatest influences on freedom was the seperation of church & state. They did it for a reason.

Christian culture is what the USA was established upon. We are not fighting to impose such things as Ten Commandments plaques in courtrooms, we are fighting the atheists who want them removed.

The US Supreme Court is a bunch of hypocrites who say that all courtrooms in the USA should remove the Ten Commandments...except their courtroom!

We are fighting to defend our culture from things like this:

Buddy, you have just exposed yourself and your bigoted mentality in a way that the rest of us never could have.
Seriously, does being filled with all this hate and bitterness make you feel good about yourself?

Is it bigoted to think that...

"Felching" is an abnormal practice?

"Scatting" is an abnormal practice?

"Barebacking" is an abnormal and suicidally unhealthy practice?

"Facials" are something that you should only receive at a salon and not in a public park?

12-year old boys should be left alone by old queers?

These are all things that are currently either practiced or advocated in California and the latter item is being advanced in the California Legislature by Assemblyman Mark Leno (D) San Francisco to lower the age of sexual consent from 16 to 12.

Homosexuals have been around for years and I do not advocate intolerance of them as a group. Hell, I prefer to hire gays because they're great employees! But I'm not going to tolerate a gay pride parade in my workplace. Ironically, I'm accused of bigotry towards Muslims because I do not accept their blind hatred of gays!

What I find offensive is the destruction of my culture and the replacement of it with a libertine society in which Caligula himself would blush.

I wish I didn't know about it, either.

In California if a 24 year-old man has relations with a 17yo girl it is statutory rape and he will be prosecuted and jailed. If he does the same with a 16yo boy then that is a protected right. And there is a law right now in the Legislature to lower the age of consent to 12.

It can happen.

In the Netherlands this is the law already.

And how are homosexuals "destroying" culture? I find some of the practices you mentioned repellant as well, but here's my question: why should I care about what two consenting adults do? They choose to engage in such activites, they will have to deal with the consequences.

And why do you always homosexuals in you exmples of child molestation? If I remember correctly, the majority of child molesters are hetero.

Actually come to think of it, that is pretty ironic.

However, it is bigoted to judge someone as a threat to your culture based on practices that you think are abnormal. Whether you like it or not, gays and lesbians are part of your society, and part of your culture, and denying it is not going to change that.

Furthermore, I take all this hysteria regarding this "age of consent" thing with a grain of salt. Until somebody can show me a bill that identifies the change as specifically to facilitate sexual relationships (homosexual or otherwise) between adults and kids, I will continue to be skeptical.

Sorry, the only "Hysteria" I'm into is a Def Leppard album.

Sounds like a sweeping condemnation to me. On that note, I also dump on the idiots who live in the US.
