I think Russia has earned the "Dirty Cocksucker" of the year award for that one. Of course they would give the average Afghani weapons; they end up in the hands of the Taliban. Karzai deserves that award for instigating this, as if he didn't know what a hornet's nest he was poking. He's t...

That was the easy part. Now they have to figure out what to do with the inmates.

"Ignatieff won't 'run against oilpatch'"

What a smart move. I think the Liberal Party can say the Chretien era is officially over now.

I KNOW it's for revenue. Thank goodness. I was beginning to wonder about you. :) But they have a choice in which ads they accept - so they should allow their drivers some leeway too. That's a process I don't know about. Do they have a choice? Have they not displayed pro-religion ads before? (If the...

Standing up for principle is being a cry-baby?

Interesting thought.

I don't know about a principle, but they were sure standing up for intolerance.

If you don't agree with me, I'll punch your fat face in for atheism!*

*DISCLAIMER: Not serious, just making a point.

If you get onto an 'Agnostic' bus there's a 50/50 chance you will or you won't reach your intended destination.

That driver would have a nervous breakdown trying to decide whether or not he should drive it. :)

If the job has nothing to do with religion.... then why is the employer accepting "religious" ads?

For revenue, of course. Do you think that makes the employer involved in religion? (and soap, and investment funds, and diapers, and whatever else is in the ad space it sells)

I think he has a right to such a refusal.

Which he exercised. And I assume his employer has the right to discipline him for putting a personal belief above a job that has nothing to do with religion, especially if people were denied bus service that day.

Naw, it's more than likely he's just getting his reality check, like every other politician who won office has discovered. Even though your names on the stamp, your aren't running the show, so sit back and do as your told. He said basically the same thing on the night he was elected (that it would ...

He hasn't welched on any promises (yet). All he said was that it will take some time to implement them, more than likely to break the news to those who think the world will change the instant he is sworn in.

That was a painful press conference to watch. Instead of warmly recounting his days in office as usually happens at these gatherings, he spent most of his time defending himself, and at times even seemed like he had to keep his temper in check as question after question was about his mistakes. Oh we...

Actually the first Canadians may have been here, just as long as others have been in Europe or Asia...<snip>...Barry Fell also discovered remnants of ancient languages in North America that also go back well into the B.C. period. And some guy said he found 10,000-year-old pyramids in Bosnia, ...

More likely he'll be here to tell us that he asked the big-3 Auto companies to close their foreign plabts in Canada and Mexico in order to save US jobs. Naw, I think he's visiting Canada first simply because he knows who America's friends are, and closing down auto plants would tend to alienate us ...

Howdy, here from... I dunno. I was raised in Nevada, go to school in Utah, and am staying in the Midwest until April when I head off to Ukraine for two years. Bienvenue! I haven't met a chautauquan since...well, never, I guess. How come ye by such archaic nomenclature, good sir/madam, if I may be s...
