Ok, enough of this. The preceding wasn't for Milton but for anybody else that may still be reading this because of the comments and actually thinks about this stuff. I do read what I write, its obvious Milton DOESN"T. NOWHERE did I say nuclear energy was 'green' (although in many ways its green... |

By the way, its a side article, but the rhetoric about 'deniers' is an important one. Groups often claim they are disadvantaged in order to portray themselves as an underdog and the holocaust denial thing lends into that 'poor me I'm so persecuted, just like Galileo-so I must be right' thing. Howeve... |

The scientists fired went to the senate because the ultimate decision making authority was up to deputy ministers, their bosses, and they were going to approve Monsanto's BGH. Dr. Chopra is a scientist, NOT a deputy minister. Where I see the power of corporations being limited is in green energy. Ag... |

Just go to realclimate.com and search for 'hockey stick' and there is tons there, including the list of studies, as well as the numerous research organizations that support them (the NAS, the CRC, etc.). As for the rest, this thread was about climate, not about the banking industry or the agricultur... |

Dude, if thats what you call 'waking up', I'll pass. For links, I assume you mean on cap and trade. The easiest thing to do is simply go read the wikipedia entry for it. However, again, acid rain was effectively neutralized due to a cap and trade system. Readers can go here: http://www.edf.org/artic... |

I finally read the article, I'm not going to go through all of it, I work quite in depth in science and know all about the peer review process and its too often failings (although its better than the alternative). The paper seems to focus on the 'hockey stick' and says quite clearly (according to tw... |

Here's the problem, an example of these conspiracy stories shows up at prisonplanet.com, the conspiracy theorists mecca. The title reads "Oil Companies Support Climate Change Alarmists, Not Skeptics". Now, this can be disproved in two seconds of reading above-oil companies have put millions into den... |

Actually, go DO that. The money trail proves exactly the opposite. Go look at the Globalization Institute in Poland, or one of any of over 500 'research' organizations that are the main climate change deniers. ALL of these have been bankrolled by oil companies and other major polluters. Other big sp... |

Suffice it to say, Canada doesn't have that much respect for international law either-so it seems a good fit. |

I don't think you understand what 'trolling' actually means. Actually, I'd suggest its the ARTICLE that is trolling. Arguing whether its human caused or 'natural' is a hypothetical argument that ignores policy, so there's no real purpose to it. Post an article saying the chicken came first, no matte... |

It's climate change because many scientists complained that 'global warming' didn't accurate reflect what was going on. Climate change encapsulates severe weather, while global warming just makes it sound as though things might heat up a bit, and those in developed countries like canada would say "g... |

And actually, to quickly get into the debate yet again, the evidence is overwhelming, and the IPCC hasn't nearly been shown to be corrupt-there were a couple of issues, but thats it. Oil companies and industry in general hate regulations, this is very evident in the US, where the Koch brothers have ... |

There are several good books on how the climate change denying industry works. It's not true about science and 'debate' when important issues are at state. Science made the determination that smoking causes cancer. There is no more 'debate' on the issue, even though research is still being done. Cli... |

Sorry, you can go look up 'black bloc' at wikipedia and apparantly it is not a group, but a 'tactic' that has been around at least since the eighties. The fact this isn't more common knowledge shows just how little media attention protests get. |
