The story says the President made those comments on Tuesday so that would be after the actions you have mentioned. I don't know how much you should rely on that though for your argument that he doesn't mean his recognition of the need to combat climate change. It would depend on whether he stipulate...

It could have been a little clearer, it does make sense though, triggering global warming in the same sense as shooting yourself in the foot can happen more than once if you're not really bright. Uhhhh yeah. So tell us Professor Environment, seeing as how the oil that is NOT currently going through...

It probably depends on what you call peaceful. The protesters were undoubtably completely pacifist and resistance-less, but I suspect they were arrested for chaining themselves to the white house gate, which would be construed as a threat by security.

The long-term fix is to get rid of the concept of "downtown" altogether. It's madness to funnel upwards of a half-million people, depending on the city, in and out of the downtown core every work day. More commercial parks have to be built adjacent to already existing suburbs. This will e...

Actually I do. The average difference between "Western Canada Select" (what we produce) and "Brent Crude" (what the Arabs export) is 50 dollars: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/industry-news/energy-and-resources/crude-discount-seen-continuing-for-ca...

I didn't offer a non-literal definition of consult, let alone a generous one I took that to be what you were suggesting... The literal sense may be as you say. On the other hand if you consult but do not take into consideration the information you got through consultation it is a waste of time, the...

Are you really that naive?? First tell me one time in the last billion years there has not been climate change. It has been much colder and much warner than current temperatures no matter where you currently reside. Adaptation has been the rule for all biological entities. Are you really that ignor...

The literal sense may be as you say. On the other hand if you consult but do not take into consideration the information you got through consultation it is a waste of time, theirs and ours. If the Government can make a decision counter to the advice proferred by natives, environmentalists, scientis...

The Supreme Court of Canada says the Government must consult. The Government of Canada is not consulting. I think it is obvious who is breaking the law. And not just breaking the law but trying to hide that crime by burying the evidence in omnibus budget bills. If they weren't so shallow and pathet...

Are you serious? The suggestion that you are doing any of this after posting what amounts to a novice first year Greenpeace subscriber mantra is ludicrous. Yes, lobbyists forget green has a cost. Wind farms have an environmental cost. Solar farms have an environmental cost. Do you honestly need it ...

The trouble with that is that there will be no "the change" to get adapted to. Change will be as mercurial as the weather, As a farmer I can prepare for what averages are going by year to year and seasons through. But from what I have seen that is going to be as useless as ... well I can'...

I would LOVE to see this go through for several reasons: Alberta would be able to sell oilsands crude for more than they do now across the board (supply and demand), and the refineries would be able to purchase it for less than the world prices they pay now. This, in turn, would make fuel in easter...
