The OWS made a legal protest, broke a few bylaws, were tolerate by the police and politicians and two months later have made there point. Some right wing pundits tried to make principles out of the infraction of the bylaws. The protestors had a lot of issues and were quite popular, especially given ...

I went down to the protest here in Toronto and spoke to ten or so protestors. They all had specific ideas, which were generally a broad concern. This would be like non renewable resources running out. In addition passer buyers were sympathetic with one issue or another. I a whole lot liked hearing f...

In the USA unemployment is over 9%, seems stuck there, but the legislators are intent on making illegal immigration easier. Where's the worker conscious out there. Where's the middle class morality. It seems to me a job is job and if you have jobs they should go to the locals first. The Churches, th...

I've been passed fake $100 bills at work although the simple lack all the saftey checks stymied that. The donut shop girls near the Pearson airport say they get quite a few fakes in that neck of the woods.

I still think andy's is worse, but this one comes close.

Yeah Andy, change your underwear - that avatar is wearing a bit thin.

I'd like to see some numbers, like how much of the bond market is the very rich is the USA. Or how much is China, Japan and the Arabs.

In the meanwhile, er, who is the "bond market". I've read a lot of articles on economics, that's my background, but I still don't know who the bond market is. Who has all that money. The bond market is controlling the world but I don't know who exactly it is. What do you mean by 'who' ? T...

Here's a paragraph on how a German Bank misplaced $77 billion. http://www.economist.com/node/21536662 The paragraph is the last of a series, at the bottom of the web page, and under "every penny counts". As the money is in a bank taken over by the government it's added to the national debt...

The Remembrance Holiday already works quiet well. The days long poppy campaign, the veterans appearing on the street, and the media attention to the meaning of the day. I find the idea awesome already and most do.

Go over to Babble and you will find living breathing, self confident communists. These are people that believe the difference between people isn't working hard and talent rather just money. They will tell you if money was taken out of the equation people would turn out to be talented as the next guy...

The term has another use that I've never heard it put to. The way in which debt limits political choices in a country. The whole West has really been Debtocracies for decades now. Canadian politics is very clearly driven by the debt constraint. Debtocracy, never heard the word before but it's a good...

Not everyone knows that other people know we have problems. Assembling together for once provides an interesting experience. A protest is a pretty small step. The leftist agenda is sobering because the facts have a Liberal (or leftist) bias. Myself I was rather encouraged by the young people I meet...
