The way the contract is going we might never sign it. They are haggling over a $300M cost increase and now a $83M penalty for haggling. We did close a deal on 6 used chinooks for delivery from the US in Feb/09 to get our men off the ground and not have them beg for a lift.(often from our own chinook...

Let us order the Alenia C-27J Spartan
We can tag our order along with USofA's right now and quit our lagging so we do not fall out of cue and have to wait longer.

Since it seems that the Buffalo's are at the end of their lifespans and the Alenia C-27J Spartan is still a ways away since we don't have the money and the waiting list, etc, etc... Would it be possible to replace the Buffalo's with something else? Like Dornier 328's? They're only $11.7M a pop... :...

Bombardier's new C-series jet looks just perfect for replacing the anti-submarine coastal patrol role. I do believe we should also have a smaller (cheaper) jet recon for the many more hours the arctic will now demand. Let us price out 18 C-series and 8 Sentinel R1.

Everyone hates nuclear because of the storage of spent rods. These spent rods will be the energy for the next generation of plants. In reactors there is no such thing as waste. (except the time we spend twiddling our thumbs looking for another solution). Actually we should be able to... lets see E=m...

In 2007, 76% of Canada's exports went to the U.S. In 2000, it was 86 percent of Canada's exports that were shipped to the U.S. http://www.buyusa.gov/harrisburg/can_ustrade.html http://www.traveldocs.com/ca/economy.htm Thanks for the numbers Benoit, I guessed low because I didn't want it to look as ...

The reason we want the F-35A over the F-22 is not the original purchase price but the maintenance cost of the F-22 would be more than we could handle and its' air frame and engine life with all the extra G-force etc. of vector thrust will only be half of the F-35A. The F-35A is an exceptional strike...

Yes, we must have a rapid response force: we can call it an airborne regiment but being Canadian it will have to be a battalion. The reality is troop numbers (not enough people are joining the military) and the fact of transport... as I recall a herc carries less than 100 soldiers so 8 herc's requir...

Ya, if Sweden can support a Fighter program, we should be able to as well. Like mentioned earlier, Bombardier has experience in the area of Aircraft. They'd be able to at least manufacture a Fighter and would certainly benefit from participating in the R&D. R&D sounds like along time... and...

Candu Reactors are in their 3rd generation and are cutting edge technology. Nuclear is the only REAL solution to energy shortage and Canada is the Saudi Arabia of u238. The Tar sands need a reactor so that operation can produce "clean oil" and stop wasting our natural gas. Canada could bec...
