Great shots. I'm jealous and I'm going to go find an airplane!

(I have a few old film shots of a crashed Canso in the rainforest outside Tofino. I think I should plan another trip there.)

Found this image on the web - looks a lot like my pics. I'd have a lot of fun spending an hour taking photos.

The Spitfire belonged to a friend of mine's father and was donated to the museum. When I was a kid his dad who was a Spitfire pilot during the war flew it regularly around this area. He bought it in Belgium and had it redone here at his hanger. He has it painted the same as his was during the war. The "Red Indian" on the nose I believe is a decal from Shell Oil available many years ago and represents his squadron.

Beautiful plane!

My dad grew up beside an airplane junkyard in Hespler. $1000.00 bought you a Harvard you could fly off the lot. He almost convinced my grandfather to buy one... almost. He sure wishes he tried harder.
