The on-again, off-again tour by rock band Aerosmith is on again, with dates set in September for Winnipeg, Calgary, Saskatoon, Edmonton and Vancouver.

The American group's touring schedule has been interrupted by injuries and internal disputes among band members.

On Aug. 5, 2009, Aerosmith's lead singer Steven Tyler, 62, fell during a performance in South Dakota.

Following the accident, the band's concert dates were thrown into turmoil. Matters did not improve when internal strife was reported among band members, notably involving lead guitarist Joe Perry.

The rift was mended and a new tour schedule was announced.

The group is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock tour. Aerosmith's many hits include Walk This Way in 1976, Love in an Elevator in 1989, Livin' on the Edge in 1993 and I Don't Want to Miss a Thing in 1998.

The Western Canadian tour stops are:

* MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Sept. 8.
* Saddledome in Calgary, Sept. 10.
* Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon, Sept. 12 .
* Rexall Place in Edmonton, Sept. 14.
* Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Sept. 16.

When the earlier tour was scrubbed several lawsuits were announced, claiming losses by promoters and venues. It was not reported Friday what impact the new dates would have on the legal actions.

A call to a media representative for the group was not returned.

The band has been touring South America and Europe.

Shows in the United States are scheduled in 18 locations through the summer. A concert in the band's hometown of Boston has already sold out.

"I thought it was time to get my mojo back by rocking South America and Europe with a little home run at Boston's Fenway Park thrown in," Steven Tyler is quoted as saying in a news release from the concert promoter on Friday. "We're gonna rock you into the middle of next week."

The release also quoted Perry as enthusing that the group's recent tour was very successful.

"We are running on all cylinders," Perry said.
