Ripcat Ripcat:
Rik Emmet

I'm a little disappointed that he wasn't mentioned earlier.

I cna't think of any others that haven't been named.

Glad to see Lenny Breau on the list. He was a phenom. I think just for the Wow factor, I'd tip my hat to Jeff Healy. His solo at the end of his cover of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" just makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Alex Lifeson could shred with the best (e.g. Spirit of the Radio), but he also was an innovator with the "new wave" guitar sound (Signals etc).

For newer talent I really like that dude from Billy Talent. Great chops, innovative sound and hooks that hit you like a freight train! (Ian D'Sa--just looked it up).

Yup, had to pick up my guitar and learn the intro to fallen leaves after hearing it for the first time.

I think I've already forgotten it again. :|

I posted a couple years ago that Colin James was my pick. Now, I still think he's amazing, but now that Jeff Healy has passed away and the radio stations seem to play more of him music, (that really pisses me off too, have to wait for him to be dead before they play his stuff.. ) ..I have to change my mind. Jeff Healy was an amazing artist.

The best one I have watched live was Shaun Verreault. He did a 15 minute guitar set that was just awesome at the Calgary Stampede back in 1998 or 1999.
