Steven Taylor dicects the spin from CBC's Christina Lawand.

With this sort of obvious cut and paste rubbish, it's no wonder the gov. wants more official news and less CBC media spin.

"Very predictable" indeed. The CBC should stick to reporting the facts and not their own bias.

Don't forget that we pay money for that.
That's not even what the evil government wants us to see, it's unelected mandarins who let that crap to go on.

Im not to impressed with that myself.....I always liked the CBC....not happy at all.
I cannot find the article or link on the CBC with that on it. I want to find it, and include the youtube link it and and ask what the hell they think they are doing?
Might be a bit naive of me, but when I watch the news I want unbiased, true reporting, not some bitches idea of what I WANT to hear. What a joke...and here I was thinking I DIDNT live in the US with CNN and Fox news.

Not suprising at all, I see the same thing all the time on Asper and BCE media, except there is usually bent in the other direction.
At least with the CBC you a mix of biases. For example, I listened to a CBC radio show dealing with oilfield safety in Venezuela where the two people interviewed were the ex-CEO of an oil company (I think it was shell, cannot remember exactly) that got kicked out of Venezuela and the other was a member of the fascist national union - the union put in place by the facist government which preceeded the Chavez administration. Of course the two of them bashed Chavez's record and they pointed out that fifteen people had died in workplace accidents in one oil region alone in a year.
Lacking from that report was any rebuttal from the other national union or the Chavez administration. Also lacking was any context for the number of deaths. That number is certainly high compared to Canadian oil fields, but how does it compare to past years? How does it compare to the years prior to the Chavez administration taking back control of the national oil company?
Me personally, I believe we should have a free press. Not only free to say what they want, but also free to be biased in any direction they want. The problem in Canada is that we have so few sources of information. What used to be thousands of independent newspapers, TV channels, and radio stations has been merged and amalgamated into basically just three owners - and all are neo-conservative.
Here in Vancouver 70% of the media available to me is owned by Leanord Asper (CanWest Global). Almost no matter where I look, I only get the neo-conservative bias. That is the real crime here - not bias itself, but the lack of diverse opinion.

At least you've moved to a frank admission that all of this is over your head. ---Now that's progress.

Why have the government run a television news network? ---You wouldn't have them run a newspaper.
That would be pointless, (even though some people would think it was a fine thing). But it's just as pointless in a television news broadcast as it is in a newspaper.
