Dear Canadaka.net members,
This summer was very difficult for all New Democrats. Jack Layton's death truly touched Canadians from coast to coast. The outpouring of support our caucus and party has received has been overwhelming. As New Democrats, we continue to be inspired by Jack's legacy. One way we can continue to honour his memory is to raise awareness and research funding to help in the battle against cancer.
For those who don't know, Movember is an annual month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November, to raise money and awareness about prostate cancer. 1 in 7 Canadian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point in their lives.
Last year's Movember was a great success, - raising $15,995 - but I know that this year we can do even better. Our team captain, Glenn Thibeault (MP for Sudbury) has set an ambitious target for our New De-MO-crat team of $50 000. The growing of 'staches has already begun, and so has our fundraising! Together we can make a real difference and change the face of men's health.
Please take time visit my Movember page and make a donation today. Every amount, big or small, will make a significant difference.
