Rumours abound in the UK about Materazzi's comments referring to Zizou's mother who has cancer, some lipreaders are claiming that he wished him and all his family long and panful deaths or something like that... I can imagine anyone getting pretty touchy if that was the case.

I think maybe they should take back the award, fair enough. But I can understand why France has forgiven him, and I do like the fact that this will be talked about as one of the more infamous moments of World Cup history, for the pure surreal drama. And the way that guy bounced!

Soccer players should get awards for dramatic acting. Canadas soccer team never made it into the world cup a few years back because they refused to do that shit....probably thinking hockey and delay of game..
