Assuming that your argument is true, which I'm not sure it is, even your big three will send their profits to the US. Still out of Canada, so where's the difference? And it's better to send the profits to Japan and employ someone in Canada than send the profits to the US and employ someone in Mexico.

Canada and the USA's economies are so dependent and intertwined they are really ONE economy, the North American economy...

Why do you think Canada was able to alows it's military to slide so much? Because Big Brother America would bloody the nose of the first punk arse bully who shoved it's little brother...

Tally to date...

Then tell me what car has been winning the production car class for the last 5 years at LeMans 24 hours, Daytona (Daytona endurance road race & NOT Daytona 500), Sebring... The Chevy Corvette has....

The production class Corvette is so far ahead of other cars in it's class it even comes close to beating the full race cars who race at the same time....

LeMans, Sebring, Daytona are kind of neat races as there are several classes all racing on the track at the same time... A few times a production class Corvette has finished ahead of the 2nd place full race car...

Besides most Japanese cars are front wheel drive and a rear wheel drive car out handles most front wheel drive..

There's a good reason why most performance cars (Ferrari, Viper, Lamboghini, Corvette, Porsche, Indy, NASCAR, F1, etc) are rear wheel drive... There another one of Hurley's brain farts exposed as a myth.... :D :D :D :D

Again, you are talking about Civics and Corollas, not Japanese sports cars. The 350Z, RX-7, Supra and most Japanese vehicles that one would compare to Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs are rear-wheel drive. And all three major race circuits you mentioned (Nascar, Indy, F1) use custom cars.

If you are going to continue in this vein, then perhaps we should start talking about the how much better a 350Z is when compared to a Ford Focus or Pontiac Sunfire...

Those Toyota GT200's are the exception and not the rule.... Although I must admit they were cool as were the early Datsun 240Z's...

But that my friend is the difference between Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc and GM, Ford & Mopar.... The Big Three build cars that appeal to auto enthusiasts, people who love cars and enjoy driving.... (Challenger, Viper, Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, Cobra, Ford GT,etc) and Toyota, Honda, Nissan, build appliances. Things people see as mere transportation. Perhaps these people would be better off riding the bus...

A person who buys a new Mustang or Challenger can probably turn a wrench, office secretaries, bored housewives and pencil necks buy Civics, Corollas, Camrys, etc...
Shouldn't you be comparing Cobalts and Malibus to Civics and Camrys etc...?

I used to own Mustangs with my Mitsubishi. Walked all over a Lincoln LS too. Corvette beat me pretty good.

You aren't comparing brands so much as models with your post. No shit people who enjoy driving buy sports cars and commuters buy compact.

*edit: Oops, sorry Boot, you beat me to it.

Just looking at LeMans 2008, great, you beat a bunch of Japanese cars that didn't even race, based on a production car (that's probably sold to the public just so that it can be raced, like the McLaren F1LM was) costing more than twice as much as a 370Z. Big. Fucking. Deal. How well did the Mustang do at LeMans? Oh right, it didn't race either. The Viper then? Oh. Neither did it.

Piss off.

So your argument is that it's just fine for Canada to be completely dependent on the USA? Some patriotism you've got.

AND Canada is dependent on the US as well...Hence the reason our military was so neglected by Martin & Chretien...

ANYTHING AT ALL.

Isn't that closer to the truth?

Seriously though (he said through clenched teeth), this topic has gone on for six pages and if anyone says anything Stemmer disagrees with, he’s off on some silly tangent. This bozo is as sad a lynnefoster. Gotta have a soapbox, the message is irrelevant.
