Ran out of things to cut and paste from Google?

What kind of criticism is that supposed to be? You think it's OK for the govt to bullshit us, that's your prerogative. But you've got to do a better job of defending that position.

You're ignoring a key piece of information and the complexity of the situation.

As said above:

It's pretty comon when it comes to accounting to have two sets of books. One is analyitical where figures change, because FACTS change, and its a project that hasn't come to a close and the other is the book for the public. Disclosure.

You want to give Bodah the final word here and follow his reasoning, that's up to you.

However the budget officer has a problem with it

$1:
Page told host Evan Solomon what bothered his office was that one set of books was available inside DND, while another "for communication purposes" was presented publicly, in which he said the government was "low-balling" the numbers.

According to Page, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) has pegged the costs for all variants of the F-35 at $137-million.
And at that price, Page says the Canadian government will not be able to purchase 65 F-35s but more like 40 or 45 fighter jets.
"That's the difficult part," said Page.

Page wrote to Rob Fonberg, the deputy minister of national defence, this week asking him to adopt the same pricing used by the GAO.
"We're already encouraging (DND) officials to look at the numbers coming out of the U.S.," said Page, adding his upcoming estimates would certainly "borrow on that."
"Prices are important. Costs are important."

just as an aside...

Back in 2006 I wrote a paper that lambasted Canada's first past the post electoral system... one of the stats particular to Canada was the amount of seats needed to secure 1 seat in parliament.

they were as follows:

NDP: 110,000 votes/per seat
Conservatives: 40,000 votes/per seat
Liberals: 37,000 votes/per seat
Bloque Quebecois: 31,000 votes/per seat
