Our stupid laws.
Any Canadian can pump out a kid anywhere in the world, and
can apply for citizenship for the kid.
Automatic passport.

Along with like 40 other countries, including the U.S. and pretty much all of Europe.

So, again I ask, "How can you repatriate someone who has never been here?" ;)

I doubt any court would say Canada has an obligation to someone who only holds citizenship because of an accident of birth.

It sucks thought that Britain pulled a fast one on us. It's illegal to make someone stateless, and we had up till now to revoke his citizenship. Now we can't.

Fair enough. So, instead of using the term repatriate, how about we use the term "bring home" to Canada. [B-o]

This is genuinely a case of "if you snooze you lose" and guess what. We were fast asleep at the switch.

But then again someone well placed in our gov't once said:

Quote:
A Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian. And you devalue the citizenship of every Canadian in this place and in this country when you break down and make it conditional for anyone.

So, this scumbag never having been in country is probably irrelevant to the law.
Again, to both of you. He was arbitrarily made a Canadian citizen simply because his daddy is Canadian. I'm pretty sure even a World Court would rule that we had to take him. We claimed him at birth.

What are you on about? We know that we had to take him, unless of course we had gone full British and nobody wants to go full British. So, given we didn't revoked his Citizenship when we had the chance and before the British did, we're now discussing new and creative ways about how we can get around the fact that he's a Canadian Citizen of convenience and how we're likely very very very fucked when it comes to how to deal with him.

But, you're right on one count. We now can't revoke his citizenship because the UN has mandated that nobody can be made stateless anymore including scum sucking, bottom feeding murderous rapists like Jihadi Jack. [B-o]

The Brits are probably pissing themselves laughing at us. First they sold us subs that cost us more to fix and maintain than new ones would have and now they foisted off their latest problem on us. But on the plus side at least we didn't overpay for this one. Although that could change depending on what lawyer Mr. Jihadi Jack gets.

If we can’t try these people under current laws then we need new laws to deal with them. BTW this was not the act of an ally. His ties to Britain are way stronger than they are to us.

Boris Johnson. With allies like that who needs enemies? He should not be allowed to get away with this.

T. May.
Turns out, the only decent thing she did to protect the UK, was about the last thing
she did as PM.

Also thank Sajid Javid, former Home Secretary and current Chancellor.

Keep seething.

So it's a pretty normal policy to have in government.

Being 'stupid' and 'normal' is why Jack is 'coming home'.

Naw, If we talk to the Kurdistani "Government" and have them try and convict him, we'd have to abide by their "court's" ruling.

Obviously, the SDF are a bit busy at the mo, with Erdogan preparing to invade, Assad keen to wipe them out, ISIS still flickering here and there and the West betraying them as usual once they have served their purpose. The French have had some of their jihadis tried in Iraq. That might be the route to go. Let's be honest - Canada is completely unable to deal with these guys.

The Brits arbitrarily removed citizenship from someone who was born there. Not from someone who fraudulently obtained it, someone who by definition was British.
And no one addresses that issue.
Because they're little fascists at heart.

Why would we? The guy made his decision. He preferred ISIS to Britain.

Time to pay the piper.
