Ok and calling them Tribal People is going to help how? Soon that term will be used for the same things that stone age, savage and primitive have been. Just changing the name of something does not change what it is.

People running around with bone tools and flint knives are effectively still in the 'Stone Age', and their practices are, in fact, primitive by the majority of human standards today.

There's nothing wrong or biased about these facts, so I fail to see how they're offensive.

$1:
Survival, the campaign group that supports tribal people, says that "stone age" is a term that has been used for many years to create an impression that such people are "backward".

So I take it calling someone "7th century" would also be offensive even if the people in question actually aspire to a 7th century culture?

I think these "anthropologists" are putting too much strength behind a label, and not enough behind a way of thinking of aboriginal peoples. In the past the way aboriginals have been seen and written about has been portrayed is as backward & throw backs. The ingenuity and lessons that can be learned by "civilized people" are thereby lost.

That's what I was thinking.

"With 15 minutes or more of weird ads about cavemen being insulted by a common phrase will send people into 15% or more hysteria.... Causing them to find that said phrases are offencive..."
