3 beer per day is a tough one. I know alcoholics that get by on 3-6 beer per day. yet some young adults are just living a lifestyle when they drink 3 beer per day

And just like it is with weed. There are some weak-minded people that THINK they can't live without weed for a day, while there are MANY others that use it in the same manner as a responsible or moderate drinker.
When you look at people that drink, only a minority of them are true alcoholics. Same with weed, a minority of pot smokers are burnouts because of ABUSE, but the majority live productive lives, have jobs, raise their families, and yes, some even quit smoking because they have more important priorities that come along.
Despite the fact I smoke weed, it didn't prevent me from becoming successful. However, I'd never go so far as to give pot credit for my success, just like I'd never blame pot for someone's lack of success.

http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2009/12/17/marijuana-teen-brain-rats.html

Rather than expose those poor rats to these harmful chemicals, why not use a couple of teenagers for their studies.

"The study, which was published in the journal Neurobiology of Disease, looked at 18 adolescent and adult rats that were exposed to cannabis."

They did use a couple of rats for their studies. Next time I would suggest 13 year old teenage girls though. Just give them a cell phone and they are amused for hours. Cheaper then cheese with unlimited text. :P

If you grew up in the 70's I'd say the number is even higher than half.(Higher, get it  )

For a somewhat realistic look at high school in the 70's, watch Dazed and Confused! The first time I seen it I thought it was an autobiography! 8)

Have to agree with rolling eyes here. I smoke on a fairly regular basis and just finished up my BA; I think I'm fairly safe from Safeway employment. In fact I need to go back to school in order to get my BeD. I don't think smoking has held me back. Certainly hasn't pushed me forward, but it's no anchor. At least for me. I am sure there acceptation there always are. The key is to not be doing it all the time; as with any 'hobby.' Although sometimes I find myself agreeing with Oscar Wilde, “Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess.”

Course I'm not arguing with you Zipper there are stoners that will end up as nothing, but I think that is where they were heading before pot became a part of their lives. But I don't think they are the majority -- they are unfortunately the minority that tend to get noticed.

I'm mostly talking about the guys that wake'n'bake and then replenish every couple of hours. It seems to suck the motivation out of them. Even in my dope heyday I hated smoking the stuff first thing in the morning. I'd be slack-jawed for hours. Just my personal experience.

This is something I can relate to for sure. I used to do the wake'n'bake in my younger days but realized early on if I did that, I would accomplish nothing that day. Now, and for years, I wait a few hours after getting up before I smoke one.
