Wow. Just checked this thread and all I have to say is WTF...!!!! I never made anything personal and if my posts offended anyone I truly am sorry. There are forums on here that dis every other province, race. and nationality but, heaven forbid. talk about Quebec and I am now a hater.

Hate me if you want but I don't want Canada to fall apart but I also do not want to live in a Country that is being blackmailed by a bunch of people that figure that if they do not get their way then they can take their ball and leave. Imagine if let's say Ontario decides that Ukrainian is now their official language and demands that everyone learn it and adopt it as their primary language.

You started a thread called "I hate Quebec" and now you're scratching your head on why you've been labelled as a hater?

Wow.

Sorry, you'd be competing with the small BC separatist movement as well as the Cascadia movement - none of which has any interest in having Alberta involved.

Alberta doesn't 'take' anyone out of confederation save for themselves.

I believe BC had something like 7% and Sask was around 12%, all of them are long dead though.

I have lived in Saskatchewan for 35 years and have only met one person who openly supported separation.I also think the support for the PQ this time around has a lot more to do with the failure of the present provincial government than the attractiveness or the PQ.

There was a spike during the NEP which died soon after, it was barely even a blip on the radar.

I hate cabbage rolls too but don't hold that against me lol. I know that 'hate' was the wrong word to use on this thread but it got people's attention.

The rest of Canada better wake up and realize that the largest province in Canada is about to elect a government whose sole purpose is to leave Canada. We bitch and complain when small native bands state the same thing but bend over backwards to placate a bunch of people who have made it very obvious that they think they are better than the rest of Canada.

Also, you have to understand that even if people vote for the PQ, it doesn't mean they want to separate.

That's a good point. I'm actually surprised that more Canadians don't vote strategically like Quebeckers do. We should form a Bloc Ontario party and use our population advantage to really wag the dog.

So, you wanted to shed light on your fear about Quebec separation.

Your course of action then, of all the responsible courses of action to take, was to start a thread on CKA called "I hate Quebec" with an invitation to posters here to explain why they also hate Quebec.

So, how has that attention seeking behaviour worked out for you? Have you initiated a thoughtful dialogue on the Canadian concerns of Quebec political ideology or the perception of ROC that Quebec society is too insular wrt their socio-economic concerns... or did you come off more like the grade 10 dropout who says, "we need to talk about the fag problem..." as a way to introduce a discourse on the ways to integrate homosexuals into our equitable and democratic society?

Yeah... the ignorant dropout missive was the way to go here. Image

Seems to me Quebecers are about to vote in the PQ cause they just don't see much of an option, kinda like how Alberta just re-elected an arrogant, tired, out-of-touch PC party because we didn't see much of an alternative.

The Quebec Lliberals are tired and (allegedly) corrupt, and the CAQ is too new for people to really know what they stand for. I suspect a great many Quebecers will vote PQ as a protest rather than because they actually want to seperate. And perhaps, hopefully, they don't actually believe a PQ government could get away with some of what they've been talking about, ie. secular charter, english suppresion, etc.

Hoo boy, one of these threads...

While I cannot add too much to what has been said (and I am trying to overlook PJB's idiocy), the impression I get is that the ROC is sick and tired of the separatist Bloc/Parti Quebecois using secession as threat to squeeze more money from the anglophone majority outside Quebec. Seriously, I think Marois and her separatist pals are dinosaurs that cannot accept the fact that the sixties and seventies are over and want an "independent" Quebec before they die off like the great reptiles of the Mesozoic. Though their idea of independence is using Canadian currency, Canadian passports, etc. Pretty much independence in name only because I believe they are very aware the province will go bankrupt without money from Ottawa at a subconscious level.

I like Quebec, but I hate a sizeable portion of the population...as in those who vote for the PQ and for other seperashit causes.

R=UP That's how I look at it as well. However I think if they elect the PQ then the ROC should consider having a referendum of it's own. I'm tired of Canada being held hostage to special interests.

Why the outrage?

Lots of Canadians hate Quebec. In fact, lots of people in Quebec hate Canada.

Quebec is on the verge of voting in a government who's mandate is to separate from Canada and we're getting pissed off at a fellow Canadian guy tired of the antics of Quebec?

If only that anger was directed towards those people who are just too good for the rest of us.

Didn't you hear? Newfoundland is sinking, and the Newfies are on their way to Gunnair Isle.

Building fortifications, laying sea mines, and setting up anti-air defences is taking its toll on the poor guy.
