I'm not here to make friends nor do my reputation points have any value in my life as apparently they do to others. I turned them off, despite being positive, because it's a joke. It's a popularity contest amongst those that desire some false sense of popularity. You guys stick together in little cliques bashing on people in groups all while giving one another reputation points.

Levity in a thread is fine. There's tons of that going around. I don't find the need to have one person running around in topics looking to drop "jokes". If you do, that's fine.

I've met a lot of people from different provinces, states, countries, racial groups and religions. A few of them were not very likable. I can even say that some were complete assholes, or even worse. Funny that none of these meetings convinced me to hate the whole group they belonged to.

You see Ray ? We were all getting along fine until Marois came around during an election and instead of focusing on important issues in Qubec like: the economy, corruption, health care, jobs etc. The main part of her platform is to strengthen language laws. I am convinced whenever our politicians in any part of this country starts to dabble in legislating laws when it comes to language. It causes nothing but problems, feelings of resentment and diviseness.

I always believed if they leaved it the fuck alone, we could all work it out on our own and get along.

Of course I'm aware not all Quebecers are dinosaurs. Quebec does have one of the highest voter turn out rates when it comes to provincial elections in this country. They take their politics seriously and that's great. With that said that means if the PQ wins, I can't help but think a lot of Quebecers agree with her policies.

Now here's the rub. Even though I'm an Anglo Quebecer who honestly gets the island of French in a sea of English analogy. I'm also a proud Canadian, I'm bilingual. But my mother tongue is English. I'm also proud of that no matter where I'm living.

So if the PQ wins, you can't blame me for feeling I am viewed as a threat. So I might as well leave. We really have to stop this language bs or it's going to destroy us.

Wholly heck. Did I ever piss some people off. Should I apologize? Really not sure about that. Posters get their shorts in knots in all sorts of threads but I am an a**hole??? So be it. I really don't care about getting called down on these threads. Most people get defensive by post alternate viewpoints but some can only call others down.

Quebec's fate and, to some extent, the fate of Canada is now going to be in the hands of a political party who wants to separate or at the very least have provincial control of government programs that are designed for all of Canada.

At least, the PQ is going to win with LESS vote than the last election (35% in 2008 and 32-33% in the last polls). So they are getting the government by default, not because people love more their option and their xenophobic and dividing positions. The dinosaurs will die eventually and we then will be able to pick up what's rest of Quebec and build something for real.
