Got the opportunity to do some hiking through some rainforest while on a three week Search and Rescue Patrol on the north coast of BC.

Thanks. I was accused once or twice, but never convicted of being a mythical creature... :)

QBC QBC:
Awesome pics Gunny!

Thanks. That hike was just about the hardest I've done in a while. No trails, uphill, and deadfalls and rocks like an obstacle course. The one I did in Bishop's Bay took me 30 minutes to cover a couple of hundred meters and I dropped about a kilo in sweat! Cameron Cove was another place, but it wasn't so bad. Mostly second growth though teeming with bears and wolves!

Photos include hikes in Bishop's Bay, Cameron Cove, and Hartley Bay.

I think I read somewhere that the coastal rainforest in BC has more biomass per square foot than any other place on earth.

It's kind of foggy, I might not have that stat 100% correct. But those photos sure look the part!

Cameron Cove. The whole ground is a sponge of rotting trees, needles, and ferns mixed in with bogs and skunk cabbage. Hard as hell to get to this part over the river's delta, but it was worth the hike up the side of the valley and over.

It's been snowing here for 2 days. I can almost smell the forest in those pics.

Thanks again Gunnie!
