Just another reason to add to the list of reasons women's hockey should be eliminated from the winter Olympics.

They can get stuffed. They won the medal on that ice - why the hell shouldn't they be allowed to have a celebratory beer on it? It's not like they were doing damage. As far as the bullshit about them doing it with the medals around their necks - ummm... so what? They were still in their gear too. Is there a rule somewhere in the IOC handbook that states you must celebrate in street clothes?

What a bunch of ninny driven bullshit.

Regina Regina:
Were people in the stands allowed to drink?
Who cares unless they weren't old enough.

"Among those drinking were Marie-Philip Poulin of Quebec City, the youngest player on Team Canada and its fourth-line centre, who scored twice in the first period. The 18-year-old Poulin turns 19 next month, but right now she would be under the legal drinking age in B.C."

So? It means she can't buy alcohol in a store, or walk in to a bar and be served alcohol. It's doesn't mean she can't consume it in a responsible manner.

It's HOCKEY fer God's sake. What did they expect a bunch of hockey playing broads to do after they won the most important contest in women's hockey? Were they supposed to go to a cafe and sip lattes and eat cheesecake and discuss their feelings?

Puh-leeze.

Most of these "girls" are so tough they can knit barbed wire with two crow bars. If after their celebration the arena was still intact the IOC should just shut their pie-holes and let it go.

Because when the Russians in Sochi start celebrating on their home ice with vodka flowing from the taps the antics of these Canadian girls will be downright Victorian in comparison.

What a load of bollocks!

These chicks worked hard and deserve to let their collective hair down.

Have we become such a society of limp-wristed pussies that we begrudge them a bit of harmless fun?

Oooo, they DRANK BEER and SMOKED a CIGAR. How could they be so uncaring!

Good for you girls and congrats on the gold medal.

Pussies, stick yer heads up yer arses where they belong.

In Canada they're the queens of the ice. They can do whatever they want. It's the unwritten law.

The IOC, and the AP can feel welcome to get stuffed.

The press have been too anxious to be critical of these Olympics. Where were these keepers of the ethical gateway in the China Olympics? They should get double-stuffed.

I used to be friends with some of the women on the Canadian hockey team back in the early 90's. THis little celebration was NOTHING compared to the way some of those girls can REALLY party.
That being said, our women won OUR game, in OUR country on OUR ice while under tremendous pressure. Nothing wrong with their celebration as far as I'm concerned.
The IOC has enough of it's own internal problems that they need to focus on first, and the AP should just be ashamed of playing the same game of bash Canada for any reason simply cuz we're the flavour of the month.

If it was in their country on their ice, who would we be to comment adversely?

Silly question.
