    Great story

To bad that the sense of community is lost in some parts of Canada.

Indeed. Rural folk are people you do not fuck with. Sure, they're nice... but don't mistake that niceness with gullibility.

My friend who lives in a western state says the locals shoot and kill certain criminals who end up as feed for hogs.

Memo: Don't commit crimes in places where the hogs outnumber the people.

An old fashioned posse would have hung the guys from the nearest tree... and instead of an ATV and tractor, it would have been horses.

Should have used the tractor bucket for the digging/grading portion of a good ol' shoot-shovel-shut up. And then have a wild hootenanny on top of where the, err, proof was disposed of.

Story reminds me of the town I grew up in. You couldn't get away with anything! Someone would see you, know who you were and call your mom.

I don't think mine ever quite made it to 200.

My town started out at 600 when I was born (less than 50 when my family moved here in the 1800's) . Now it's over 25,000. :( Mostly assholes. :( :(

My Village is flirting with Town status. ~650 in 1989; today its ~1,300

    They need better marketing.

Our downfall came when the gravel road called 'Highway 16' got paved. Suddenly, people wanted to drive into Edmonton, and come back! Every day! After work, even!

Toyota opened a factory in Woodstock, Plattsville is near there and has several services, so it's growing faster than the other villages in the area.
