School friend of Sydney knifeman said he converted to Islam

The knifeman was seen on the corner of King and Clarence Street in the Sydney CBD on Tuesday afternoon, wielding a large knife and calling on someone to shoot him.

Obviously guy is not right in the head. Still question why someone just didn't clip him with a car the moment they realized he was out trying to attack people.
