If it was a red state then it would be considered an act of brave rebellion, equivalent to the Boston Tea Party or the Shays uprising, against a cruel totalitarian "these filthy commies only let us vote every two years! worse than Hitler!" tyranny. And it would be egged on by the POSPOTUS, the frat-boy governor, FOX News, and every other grifter on the right-wing of the scale.

if that's what's causing the problems in the Red States then what explains the sudden rush of shit to the brain by all those Blue State Democrats in the California coastal areas pouring onto the beach and breaking the law?

Clearly the heatwave in Cali is the driving force behind this one. No one endorsed it, and the people engaging in it set themselves up for fines. The excessive heat plus the general fatigue with being cooped up made it into a spontaneous mass event, one that's probably going to happen every day as they move into the hot months. It is what it is. That it was just a thing that happened rather than some scummy astroturfed political stunt makes it much less condemnable and pretty much forgivable. Anyone gets sick because of it though? Well, the responsibility is on them only and no one else.

People are people and I've come to the conclusion that most political affiliations are meaningless when it comes to personal gratification especially since far to many of them have a family tree with only one branch.

I think one of the yahoos Doug Ford cussed out over that rally in Toronto was carrying a sign with "I need a haircut!" written on it. Like, poor babby, the world comes to an end because his hair is an inch longer now that it would be if the epidemic hadn't happened.

So what about this dipshit from the bluest of the blue states calling for a ticker tape parade as the FIRST thing that the city of New York would do when they reopen?

Looks like some BLUE STATE DIPSHIT forgot the lessons from 1918 where a parade in blue state Pennsylvania made Philadelphia the hardest hit city in the U.S. by far of the Spanish Flu. As if blue state New York was not already the hardest hit by this virus, they get this dipshit making it worse.

Stupidity is non-partisan. We've seen ample evidence of it on these forums.

And the weird thing is that even many of the writers at the Toronto Star, who are probably the closest thing Ford has to arch-enemies, are praising his leadership in the crisis. I wouldn't be surprised if this actually improves Ford's chances of getting re-elected. Not only will the sensible conservatives probably stick with him (friends of mine who support the Canadian Taxpayers' Federation have shown me CTF materials where they admit that even Justin Trudeau's spending is probably the right approach to the crisis, while the buffoons might migrate to a fringe party) but he'll have the goodwill even of progressives and centrists over how well he's managed something for which there really isn't a how-to manual.
