It's a horrific admission that could haunt a young child for the rest of his life. Officials in California say a boy playing with matches likely started one of the devastating wildfires that blazed through 38,000 acres and razed 21 homes to the ground la

I bet he's grounded without privileges for quite some time. Possibly won't be able to sit for a while either.

Can you imagine having the weight of a dozen or so deaths on your conscience when you're just a boy? Grounding him or tanning his hide probably wouldn't even come close to what that feels like.

I don't think he did do it he was probably playing with matches striking them and throwing them to the ground etc... so he probably thinks it was himself but having been in some tinder dry areas I've seen fires star from natural occurances.. I've seen fires develop not only from lightning strikes but within coal and even cumbustion from elements that routinely you wouldn't see that from. not just a human error campfires or downed wires...

I feel sorry for this kid.. either way...

ive seen it before. kid lights grass on fire, then stomps it out. the kid repeats this and every time lets the first go bigger and bigger. eventually he can't stomp the first fast enough, it spreads like crazy and he runs away.

it happened in the grassy bush not far from my house a few years ago. firefighters were on my back lawn putting the fire out. good thing a river flows next to my house, they could set up pumps on it and put it out before it reached any homes.
