so nice to see the States having a carrot and stick dangled in front of them... I feel bad for the Czechs and Poles who signed on for the system, at the expense of Russia's ''goodwill,'' only to now have no defense system and an aggravated former occupier on their doorsteps...

    1938 redux ?

The 'defense ' system was 10 missiles, nothing to defend a real Russian attack.
But still, I am sure the Czechs especially feel screwed a bit again, they
will be more careful in the future.

Being a friend of the US is dangerous these days.

It is better to be an enemy, you get much better treatment....

Get ready to gasp in amazement, your right and when I read that we were backing out of the agreement I was and still am pissed. Why anyone would sign a treaty with the USA gov. is beyond me. We have broken more treaties in the past 200 years then any other nation over the same period of time.

I fell that the US once again has shown that we wont keep our word to potential friends and allies if a bigger country comes up with a way for us to get out of it. What a crock of S###T that we pulled out of our agreement. Sorry I'm still pissed about it and will be for many years.

The Czechs and Poles experienced 50 years of Russian 'goodwill' and I doubt that they care they've tweaked Putin. They lost nothing by doing so.
