Russia will hold large-scale naval exercises near North Korea next month that were planned before the current stand-off on the Korean peninsula, naval officials said on Thursday

    I don't think the Pygmy from Pymyang would be stupid enough to try to torpedo a Russian warship. They would not respond by taking it to the UN.

    The Russians might be doing it response to the US/South Korean naval exerecises.

    Like OMG, lets have everyone send their fleets then line them all up, pick teams, least popular nation gets picked last, and have some pre WW3 wargames, just to see where everyone stands militarily.

    The Russians wouldn't go to bat for North Korea. Hell I have my doubts about China going to bat for them and they are supposedly North Korea's "main ally".

    Supposidly the ex. was schedlued prior to all the latest crap going on, there is no way Russia is standing up for NK.

    You're right. China is the big boy in the Asian hemisphere. They need to be calm and cool regardless if they are allies or not. China knows N.Korea is a loose cannon but they are still a communist ally. In my opinion, enough is enough. Kim Jong Ill isn't going to listen to reason and this begs the question as to why the U.S spent so much resources in Iraq finding nothing other than to boost their military ego rather than spend resources on an unstable mind like....that guy.

    Yeah, I don't think Russia would help North Korea openly. Sell weapons and such, sure, but Russia will do that for anybody.
